Yeah, LNAV 2.0 came out about a year and a half ago.  What we need now is LNAV 3.0.

If you look closely, you can see the detail of the skin doublers, the subtle application of flush riventing, and the slight surface irregularities that occur around thejoin-lines of the nose radome and theforward gear bay doors.

Here’s hoping there’s something actually active behind the lovingly modelled radome on this one…..

They can release whatever they want, in any order. As long as it isn't "expansion based".

That would be comical and a good business decision if PMDG made the 772-LR/F a base pack (like in P3D) and you could not use another variant with out it but that would not work on the Marketplace so it would likely never happen for MSFS.

I'll wait a while to decide between pmdg or FF V2 for xplane, it's going to be a good year for those of us who like the 777.

As I recall, when the 737 series came out, RSR said that because of the way the Marketplace is structured, each aircraft variant had to be a stand-alone product. I assume the same will hold true for the various models of the 777.

lol, Flightfactor's aka Ramzes 777 was a joke. I'll take PMDG's 777 anyday. Not even close.

I have my doubts too, but from what I hear on the net it could be something very big. Pmdg is not entirely trustworthy either so I'm going to wait a long time to read objective reviews and decide which one to buy, for me it's an important investment of money and I want to be sure of where I'm putting my money.

Excited for this, and glad to see the progress being made - Q1 next year is surely a possibility.

But this is a little underwhelming for an update IMO.

"inviting us into the hangar for an eggnog" was just a couple of very cropped photos of the front and back of the aircraft exterior?

Bit disappointing.

Nope. The 737 doesn't have weather radar so the same for 777.

PMDG doesn't want to hear anything about weather radar and block posts about this on their forums

I quickly scanned the thread at PMDG and noticed what I thought was comments regarding deep flight testing and some re performance relative to 737, and yet just a few segments of fuselage and not a single image of the  cockpit, yet all these glowing comments?

Ive been pretty neutral with PMDG and i really enjoy their 737 but i'm beginning to see why people get so worked up with their comms methods and its starting to grate..

I have to agree with Noel here. This Christmas "preview" was pretty much a nothing-burger. The teasing is getting rather irritating. and I'm rather perplexed as to why they have to do their communication and promotion like this.

Its almost as if you kind of have to wander into these announcements with the knowledge that until their web storefront is activated your going to get walls of txt filled with hot air and no substance.

Either show actual previews or just go away already.

Well, gotta be quite frank here, who's forcing anyone to read PMDG's updates? And then get annoyed by them? 🙂 ... A lot of us like some information compared to nothing, and I actually like to hear RSR's details and insights into PMDG's inner workings and how things are going. It's rather interesting actually, to me.

Yes what actually was shown in this first preview are some exterior shots.. but we also learned that the beta testing is going better/faster than expected, that the performance of the 777 in its initial builds are equivalent to the released 737, that they aim to do a full C*U simulation with all control laws, that around half of the 200 defects reported by the beta testers in the first week of beta got resolved, etc. That's.. sort of what one expects to hear in a development update.

Some folks seem to have a history with PMDG, RSR, and/or PMDG's forum that then renders them somewhat bitter and weirdly and easily worked up over anything that's PMDG and/or RSR related. I mean, as always it's quite easy to save oneself this irritation by not wading into a PMDG thread ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
