You are implying the guy isn’t an aviator and not successful. He is a business jet pilot. Falcon and I think citation. Owns pmdg. On the board of numerous companies. Flew a dc3 across the pond. Fault him for his personality if you wish. But by most standards he is a highly accomplished person and aviator.

What’s his actual aviation experience?

Fenix, Maddog, BAe-146, and the HJet would like to have a word with you.

The BAe-146 is a fine addon, but it's definitely not at PMDG, Fenix or Maddog level in terms of system depth. The Fenix is on par with PMDG or even more in-depth in some areas, but it has some significant issues too ranging from fuel burn and calculation, flap 3 drag and attitude, the tiller button not doing what it should be doing, AP issues on a teardrop-shaped departure and FBW to literally falling out of the sky on one engine.

This is in no way meant to denounce any of these addons, but since someone already pointed out issues with the 737 it makes sense to point out that other aircraft have some teething issues too. We're still talking about desktop flight sims and software.

The answer to that is literally in the post you quoted.

But it doesn't even matter. His response was poor taste and is rightly criticized, but it's also poor taste to speculate and question his pilot career. That's irrelevant.

Curious, what is missing in the B146 besides a maintenance mode?

Oh come on…give me a break. I’m not implying anything. I responded to a post about him flying airliners. Specifically the 747. This is utterly ridiculous. I don’t mention anything about his other flying experience because the post I quoted didn’t mention anything about his other flying experience.

What I said is that he had a type rating in the jet with no actual experience. As far as his experience with the actual 747, he has none. Plain and simple. I then asked someone to prove me wrong because I don’t follow the guy gushing over his resume. That in no way diminishes his other accomplishments in his life. Good grief….

I guess my main question would be if you have a copy of his logbook to make sweeping assumptions?

By accounts of reviews I've seen it doesn't have the same system depth as PMDG or Fenix. Feel free to correct me though.

Not really it’s pretty vague tbh

I’ve absolutely no idea whatsoever what his experience is or how “accomplished” it is.

It just seems odd people all talking about someone else’s flying experience and saying he’s a “highly accomplished aviator”  I was curious what it actually was to achieve this title.

From what I recall having listened to a resume of his career many years ago, RSR was a line pilot on JS4100's  for United at some point.  1990's /early 00.  This is around about the time he started PMDG.  He has a type rating on a 747 but was never employed on the type as an active pilot.  He obviously has numerous ratings in his private capacity on aircraft he personally owns/has owned.

I'm curious to give those reviews a look, from my account it has more or less has a high fidelity level of depth. The system functions and performs as it should, and functions as it should in extenuating circumstances as-well. I guess some people tend to say that cause.. its old so it can't have the depth of a modern aircraft?  Though.. what more should the addon be capable of then?

What I know he said is airline flying in the JS41, private aircraft including the DC-3 and these days flying biz jets whenever he's not coding. I can be wrong on the 777 I mentioned though.

Again, no idea why his pilot credentials are the subject now.

I don't know. It just seems to be the consensus to me but again, I could be wrong. Although I think it would be a first that a JustFlight title is as detailed as a PMDG (or Fenix) one.

Because someone said someone else was a “highly accomplished aviator”which sounds like high praise to me so I was wondering what he’d actually flown to achieve that lofty title.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply.

You can see his type ratings yourself by bringing up the FAA airman search.  I've got a lot of buddy's who are airline pilots, but not a lot who flew a DC-3 across the pond.  Either way, my last reply on this as the topic is the 777.

I'm ok waiting on the LNAV.  Everybody has a different need.  For me I'm ok waiting on something like that.

For that we have the WT Boeings😉

PMDG is the KING of Boeing for MS and P3D period

At first I read "PMDG is the BendixKing of avionics producers" 🙂 which is not what you said but which could be(come) true in a way if other devs start Boeing product lines...
