Unfortunately, this "I want it all and I want it now" attitude is becoming almost normal online. That is what is embarrassing.

To be fair... I'm afraid I started the whole thing over there, and I wasn't making any demands... I just asked a question.  A fair question I think, given how long we've been being promised a properly working navdata / LNAV system.  Remember, we all bought the 737 with the promise that it was coming soon, before the 777.  So I honestly (but perhaps naively) thought that it might release with the triple.  Seemed a fair question.

Personally, I won't be buying the 777 either way; not for any reasons related to LNAV but simply because long haul flying doesn't interest me, so long haul simming definitely does not.  I would be pleased to buy their Max IF the LNAV situation is corrected by then; otherwise we've already got the NG family with all the same capabilities and we know the iFly is coming WITH properly working navdata.  I see no reason to jump on a PMDG Max just because it releases first.  I know the cockpit looks a lot different, but it really is just a 737.

What’s not to like? Looking forward to more choice of high fidelity airliners in MSFS from PMDG. I already fly their 737 often and its fun.

I'm ok waiting on the LNAV.  Everybody has a different need.  For me I'm ok waiting on something like that.

Funny enough RSR deleted his comments and people starting commenting how RSR was out of order.

That’s a terrible exchange on the forum.

I’m really surprised so many people are happy with the LNAV situation. If you really want higher fidelity aircraft then this is a big issue. The PMDG LNAV is now far behind what other developers are producing, to me it would put me off buying the 777, or any more PMDG aircraft until its improved and I’d always love any high fidelity 777/787 as I’ve got that type rating.

It’s interesting on here that many of the IRL Boeing pilots are constantly commenting on the old PMDG lnav and how much of an issue it is to them.

By constantly churning out more of the same aircraft on each format with the same old navdata and LNAV logic issues, PMDG are simply prioritising sales over fidelity.

RSR knows this and real Boeing pilots are now constantly calling him out and he’s lashing out like a baby.

You’re 100% right. I’d absolutely agree with you on the PMDG forum but it’s so toxic in there,  I’m not joining in and posting there.

If I were a real airline pilot I'm sure it would bother me as well.  But I'm not typed in the 777 and can accept it.  But also agree on the 777 forum.  One thing I will say for sure.  PMDG stopped innovating a long time ago.  They are so lucky they don't have the competition that all the airbus makers have seen.

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

I said it before, and I'll say it again.  At this point I think it would be worth delaying the 777 for them to make sure LNAV with the new navdata format is in there at release.

So far, the flight deck shots and that first interior shot didn't really impress me that much for MSFS 2020 standards.  Not trying to pile on them, but they really need to step it up here.

As much as we desperately need a payware wide body in the sim, we don't need one that's not up to snuff. We already have WT already bringing the default 787 and other aircraft up to such a high standard.  We also have several other freeware devs (FBW, DFD, and Synaptics) that have been working on some really impressive aircraft; that as of a year ago, already looked to well surpass any payware out there.  Keep in mind they're still going also.  Can't wait to see more updates out of them.  Who knows where they're at as of today.  A year ago, they looked really-really good.

Payware is really going to have step it up if those freeware groups release their stuff.  So far the only group anywhere close to the challenge as far as airliners is Fenix, IMO.  There have been some other pretty good ones, but no one else really blowing me away on the payware side.

A "modern" payware widebody.  You know what we mean...lol

Words matter man. I didn’t realize you meant modern. 777 is still a generation back from what some consider modern.  But I understand your point.

I swear, just after reading that exchange on the PMDG forum and RSR’s nasty response to an honest comment, I’m seriously considering passing on the 777. That’s just such an immature and terrible way to interact with a paying customer. At a time when PMDG is no longer offering the best products around, it’s crazy that that man’s head can no longer fit through most doors. Man, I don’t know why, but reading that really rubbed me the wrong way.

Instant buy.

In reality, it's always been this way.  Put a product out, patch it sporadically, then release a new product.  They're maximizing profit.  As people have pointed out before, the planes are flyable and get you from point A to point B.  But it's a request people are wanting addressed and they have no desire to fix.  There's no excuse not to incorporate this into their navigational code when so many modern products handle this very well.  It's a shame they are being so hateful towards people just for standing firm on a fix they want implemented.

Same here, I mean honestly what on earth was he thinking writing that?  Does he not already know he is viewed in such a poor light by so much of the community?

I think he’s just upset that the independent (not linked to PMDG) experts are generally now pointing out what’s wrong with his products and that despite the fawning in his forums, the fact is that PMDG are no longer leading the way in fidelity but are lagging behind, and they seem unwilling or unable to do anything about it.
