Does MSFS 2020 play well with other sims..?

Featured Replies

If you have MSFS 2020 installed along with X-Plane 12 and DCS, without issues, I would appreciate a thumbs up.

I am building out a new machine and would appreciate some guidance.

Many thanks..

I have all three of these sins installed on the same machine without any issues.

I'm not aware that these sims share any common components, so you should be fine.

I'll add my vote of confidence here as well. I have MSFS, DCS and XP11 (now XP12). All are totally separate - and don't appear to interfere with each other at all.

However - they're all HD space hogs, so maybe a separate drive/partition for each <?>.

Yes, no problem.. I even have FSX and P3D still installed as well, but rarely use them.

X-Plane doesn't even install, it just sits in a folder you can move around as you please.

I'll join the chorus. No problem having MSFS, XP12, and DCS installed. Agree with the comments above about space though: Make sure you have a tonne of storage space because each sim can just devour disk space.

No problem here either, have DCS, Xplane 12 and MSFS installed, pluss 15 other games..

No issues I am aware of other than the fact that you may run out of disk space as they are all very storage intensive programs.

not issues, they do not share any code, components, or executables.

ok, that was the easy part. but as the o.p. asked: how well do they really play together, i.e. simultaneously, using only a single pair of controllers, mouse, joke etc. like simultaneous chess. this way you could easily double your flight hours and land or take off at the same time, during boring long distance flights, in different simulators.

I had better add 😀 and 🤣

I very much doubt the O.P. meant simultaneously. Even if you could sort out the controllers profiles mess, I suspect your system simply wouldn't have enough RAM (or CPU power for that matter).

I doubt that even more. 🤣

mine does. that's why I got 64 GB and 8 cores. 😀
