February 22, 20242 yr Two days in a row, EHAM > EDDM, up at cruise altitude major stutters to downright pauses. All the way to altitude all was great with very low CPU use, core temps around 50C, GPU coasting along at 40% utilization, but this sudden deterioration. Had to abort both flights. Anyone else? I also just installed 4090 so wondered if maybe its frame generation routine was hosed as a cause for this, but I have to doubt that I have had success in US flights. February 22, 20242 yr I've also noticed higher CPU load at higher altitudes, even nasty red spikes, it's very strange when it should be the other way around. Btw, i'm in Beta. February 23, 20242 yr The same happened to me in the last flight I did, EGGW - HESX with the FBW A32NX and latest MSFS stable version. During cruise over continental Europe I had very high CPU usage spikes without any reason, causing stuttering. As soon as I left behind Greece going into the Mediterranean sea, those spikes stopped. i3-12100F - 32GB RAM DDR5 - GTX 1660 Super - LG Ultrawide 29'' 2560 x 1080. Windows 10 Home. MSFS 2020. February 23, 20242 yr I just had a CTD, flying Asobo B747-8i from KIAD to EDDF. Around EHAM or there abouts. I can't even remember when I had the last CTD and now this. And with a default aircraft! No beta, not many add-ons, flying with FSHud.

Photogrammetry is in, FWIW Europe is full of urban areas and full of photogrammetry. The loading in from the servers and the memory usage become very high in these circumstances. Your CPU and GPU won‘t matter, because it‘s basically all about a download stream from the server. You can test this very easily: Fly from western England to the east. You‘ll get FPS drops and stutters right up until you are over the North Sea. Then it‘s all good suddenly (memory is cleared, download streams stop). Turning PG off will solve most if not all of those problems, if this is an option for you. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
February 23, 20242 yr Author Thanks that makes some sense except that I've had so many flights over Europe without this, so therein lies the puzzle. But maybe their servers or are more impacted now than in the recent past. I will just plan on leaving PG off then while flying in this area. Cheers and thanks again! February 23, 20242 yr Author Thanks y'all this is reassuring to me at least. Of note, the FBW 320nx has really taken a turn for the worse, but I have no idea why it's a plane I use frequently. Both latest Dev version and Stable are the same, and I wondered if it was something to do w/ my new 4090, but I don't think it is it's some other change with that plane, and fairly recent at that. February 24, 20242 yr Also had major stutters over the alps coming into Venice FBW A320 tonight. It felt like a fuul blown pause at some points. Never experienced anything like it in 4 years Regards
March 1, 20242 yr Also just noticed this evening in the 737 over germany EDDM heading to prague. mike Edited March 1, 20242 yr by mikeymike
March 1, 20242 yr Could this be another windows update issue. Will try the same route tomorrow with the B2 Fenix and see what happens. Regards

March 1, 20242 yr I noticed a dramatic loss of performance over Germany when heading towards the Belgian border earlier. Photogrammetry already inactive.
