How to get the best image quality using DLDSR+DLSS

@mobeans10 The thing is, I'd like to keep GeForce (or whatever it's called in the Nvidia beta app), as I used it a lot for recording videos. Can I opt out of everything else but keep that one?

  • One benefit of my recent 4090 purchase is that I don't have to keep doing this tweaking anymore, I run my card at 3440x1440 FG TAA and render scale at 130 and the card eats everything I throw at it.

  • This could very well be the case. Anyhow, it's good to have so many options to choose from, but it can also get unnecessarily confusing and complicated. Besides, TAA is quite old now, whereas DLSS is

  • Just be aware that this approach also increases the load on VRAM quiet considerably when using 1.78 or even 2.25 times the native resolution. Might be fine for 4090 users, all others might check that

It's all or nothing as currently constituted but it's open source so you could dig into the code and recompile.  I thought you could download the GeForce thing separate from the driver ?

Yeah, I think you're right.

I’ve learned a lot from him, he makes great videos.

A new beta update was also released yesterday, overwriting the DLSS .dll. So it’s necessary (as with every MSFS update) to reinstall the .dll to get DLSS ultra quality. It’s easy to check if latest DLSS versions are in place with GPU-Z.

IslandSimPilot talks about DLAA in the video. I haven’t used it much myself. Does anyone have any experience with DLAA?

EDIT: Just tried it and I get a lot of shimmering in the medium distance. IMO DLSS ultra quality is better.

My system could handle it but the distortion is created on the sides was a deal breaker. One flat screen is just better for MSFS, unfortunately.

I was agreeing with your decision, and you had quoted my comment, so that is why i responded to you. Basically confirming your flat screen is better than what i bought - for msfs.

I think some sidetracks are ok as this thread is not limited to DLSS+DLDSR, but getting the best simming experience. By the way HDR OLED panels are fantastic for MSFS, it’s been years since I’ve used my Acer 24” curved IPS.
