New England area; around the Lake Michigan region; three in the upper midwest; and Marathon, Florida; and Leesburg, Va? Honestly I would have preferred USA airports like KLAL and KOSH, both home to large aviation annual expos, Sun 'n Fun; and Air Venture respectively. Or perhaps fix some of the airports that here going on four years are still nothing but slabs of concrete with none of the buildings. Airports like KESN Easton Maryland, and KCTJ Carrolton, GA. Indeed, but I think these choices are being made by the volunteer scenery artists who are participating in the testing process. XP claims that over 2,000 users have contributed to the development of the airports in its scenery gateway, so we've got a way to go here on the MSFS side. Special thanks to the testers who are leading the way. February 24, 20242 yr I'm not sure I am fan of their prerequisite that on the world hub you are not allowed to fix airports to their current state if underlying Bing data is outdated. So you can still touch up everything up to the state it was when the aerial was shot, but how would you even know how to correctly name the taxiways if the airport has changed and you only have access to the newest airport charts?

With the original post above I guess the World Hub aspect escaped me. Was not stated that I can tell. Here is a look still today at a default airport I referred to. Nothing short of totally embarassing! There are quite a number of these. After 3 1/2 years. Inexcusable. Yes, these have been identified for Asobo as long ago as 9/2024 (KESN) with no action. February 25, 20242 yr Author I should have used "world hub" as it's an MS word and "gateway" is an X-plane word. February 25, 20242 yr Not sure how useful this is going to be TBH as we seem to have almost everything we need on flightsim.to or if you are rich enough, the payware developers. Agree - it's unfortunate that they don't allow this. I hope they open up this capability at some point. In X-Plane, it's amazing how much of the character of an airport some gateway contributors are able to recreate with just default objects. I was an active contributor for a while, and it's a satisfying challenge too - working out creative ways to get as close as possible to the look of the airport with just the default objects.

The big advantage, speaking from what I've seen in X-Plane, is that you don't have to download and install airports individually - it's all just there and updated regularly.

Oh those I named have been fixed by individual developers. Just if Asobo wants to update some airports those so affected should be first on the list. Same, Martin. I did over 100 airports in XP. Sometimes I’d get tired of flying then spend 3 days on a small airport. I went to great lengths to replicate the visuals (putting 2 hangars back to back to appear as one long one, etc.) I was so excited to dig in to FS as I fly it exclusively now. I have edited probably 30 airports in MSFS and, alas, can’t use any of them on the Hub as they all have buildings. Stock MSFS buildings included with the base. But not allowed. So I haven’t done one for the Hub. I feel like “why bother” if all the buildings are going to be concrete pads. 😞 EddieKABQ
