At this rate we’re all going to have both AI ATC products installed which will lead to confusion and AI arguing.

”turn left heading 050”

“ no don’t listen to him ,turn right heading 120”

” I’m in charge here and I say turn left”

”the white zone is for immediate loading and unloading only, there is no stopping in the red zone”

”no,the red zone has always been for loading and unloading, there’s never stopping in the white zone”

I really hope that at the launch of the product there will be an in game panel available with an interface and a log of communication between the user and atc. This is very useful for the growing number of VR users and people whose native language is not english.

You should bring that up on their Discord, it doesn't seem to be a thing right now. There is an external window for the app with that kind of thing, but no in-game panel AFAIK.

I talked with guys at flightsimcon 2023 in Houston. Very cool and responsive! Even then I asked about it and they said that this was not a priority task, but it's also important and they understood what it was for and would add such a panel, but possible not at the start. It was a long time ago and you’re probably right - we need to remind you about it in their Discord

I think he means if the ATC commands given by BATC are scripted or AI generated in the sense of like talking to ChatGPT.

As far as I understood, BATC's commands are scripted - at least at this stage - whereas Sayintentions.ai's commands are AI generated.

sayintentional.ai has a addon for a VR panel, so hopefully they can figure it out as well.

I'm not sure about this. On the surface it is definately a welcome thing when something is going to be available much cheaper.

But what does that say about them if their initial calculations for their business model can be swayed in the court of public opinion? Usually this only happens after distribution has already started and a company notices that they have misjudged the market situation.

And for only half the initial price tag? How is that even possible? Were they trying to rip us off with the first price? Or did they feel basically the same way as the majority of the community about the price of the AI Service and went back and had some long talks with the people who provide it?

It's the 50% reduction that rubs me the wrong way. How is there so much leeway in the price-tag?

Exactly what I assumed. The heroic reduction might be more than just "we listen to the community". Giving a benefit of the doubt, we'll see where this going and until then, it's "a welcome thing"

If the ATC/Traffic-Management is AI-controlled, or if "just" the speech is generated by AI.

In the meantime i did some research and in my opinion the only AI in this software is the speech generation. All other things are similar as all other ATC solutions. If - and only if - that is the case, I am so far away from buying this software as I am far away from buying any Aerosoft product. Lightyears.

And what really bothers me extremely is the price cut.

But hey - someone will bring some light into it hopefully.

Why? It would cost extra if they were also generating the responses on the fly.

That's probably the reason why it's a one off price unlike sayintentions.ai which is monthly/yearly.

You should join their Discord, they're open to questions.

They did say they went back to their vendors and renegotiated things. Maybe their vendors were gouging them  and now they're not.

Either way, Avsim never disappoints. Where else will you find people complaining that a price reduction is too large for their tastes?

Why, if I may ask?

Pretty sure they are also bundling in a lot less free premium time now as well, which was pretty much half the initial cost in the first place.

Maybe we should just have on general BeyondATC thread (like there is for Sayintentions.ai) instead of making a new thread for every news update.

Well, if they manage to release it this year, of course. Then it may be the release of next year. I do think MSFS 2024 will be the real release of the year though.
