Miltech Sim Chinook CH47D Released March 8

Featured Replies

I grabbed this the minute of release.  Absolutely stunning and well worth the price of admission along with superior dev support via discord.

Beautifully rendered with enough depth to keep you thinking, sounds are amazing and the loadmaster page on the EFB really intuitive as well as the system used for picking up cargo.

Great product - well done @Miltechsimulations

  • Sorry for the dupe from the official forums, but here are my initial thoughts: Having a blast flying this one tonight. It definitely feels different than the other helicopters I’ve flown in MSFS

Just a few details I’d like to clarify:   - the flight model has been validated by CH47 Pilots and Technicians. She’s a heavy and stable beast and flies as such in the sim - AFCS (Autop

  • Here's the official product page. Given the feature list and apparent quality of the product I was expecting a slightly higher asking price particularly compared to some other helo releases.  I'm plea

Absolutely. You get an iconic helicopter, custom-made scenery and missions.

A few things I'd like to see are an EFIS type of ADI as seen on the "F" model (could be a tablet option) and if possible some photorealistic textures in the back. Very nice job so far Miltech, looking forward to seeing how it evolves.

I can fly helicopters only in VR, and the click spots for many instruments are not operable in VR for me. The worst are the condition levers. Simple 2-way switches work alright, but anything with 3 or more positions (like the APU switch) is inaccessible.

I figured out how to make click spots work in VR, but it is quite inconvenient. I will work with the developer to improve this. In the mean time, PM me if you want to know the trick.

Thanks everyone for the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have been getting in the past couple of days.
No product launch is perfect (especially with such a complex project with this many "pieces"). We are working hard to fix those initial set of bugs reported - an update will be released in the next day or two. As usual, release notes are available here: https://miltechsimulations.talkyard.net/.../miltech...

In the meantime, our friends at AviationLads have created a great trailer video for us - go watch it now on Youtube!

Thank you for the update. Just want to confirm, the autopilot will be implemented after the official SU15 release?

Correct - its already functional and being tested with the new SU15 flight model. The PID controllers are finetuned for the new flight model.

Just curious, any time frame for the TDS GTN 750 implementation?  Thanks.

Great update, some really nice refinement for a great product.  I do love the new sound balancing.

Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

Great Heli and recommended already as it is, and waiting for the near future development.

One complaint in this new rotary wing addon is that in VR, my only way to fly, and with more reasons VR to fly more decently and precisely the choppers 🙂 , the virtual cockpit, cyclic handle, buttons in the overhead, cabin, etc. haha, it is a bit enormous compared with all the planes I have and in VR, that seems to me correct in size in my HP G2. Ok the real machine is big, though not so. And I wouldn´t like to use the FS20 world scale slider, to shrink the entire world together the helicopter to match the size.

Regards!, and thanks for to bring us this incredible and beautiful machine.

PILOT POSITION MISALIGNED:  When I start my Pilot (right side) sits too far right with his/her right arm and shoulder literally halfway out the right side glass.

Anyone Else?

TIA,

-B
