Ah I see Jorg was just throwing a month out as an example: "What if someone buys the Vision Jet in let's say, september, and then 2024 comes out shortly after"

He also said they are thinking about taking it (Vision Jet) out of marketplace in June. I don't know, it's just speculation of course, but I think when he said june and september he had in mind their prospected release window and their internal roadmap. But sure, no one should take it as granted. But I still believe they are announcing the release date in the Xbox event in june. And after that they will share more details in the FSExpo. We won't be waiting a lot to know more.

It's just amazing how they think the VR shutdown bug is not important and hardly noticeable. Wow.

So no weather api coming means PMDG and Fenix will have to try and make a workaround or we will never see a working weather radar in the 737/777  and the A320.

Even if it's not super realistic there should be an option for something I would hope. In P3D I wonder how they read the data was it an Active Sky plugin?

Asobo's lack of awareness about their own sim in some areas is all summed up in one segment for me, and I find it absolutely astounding.

Regarding the blurry screens in DLSS mode, Martial is unaware of this issue.  He actually said "I must be missing something!"

Amazing. 🙄

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Yes, essentially, if I remember correctly. Active sky provided the data related to water droplets visible to them. Before Active Sky implemented this there was no weather radar in the PMDGs.

from today's official MSFS twitch session:

Sebastian Wloch re. Dynamic LOD:

"it's not very complex, it's exactly how it works on the Xbox. it's already working very well, we never thought about doing it on the pc. it's not very complex, only adding the option, adding a button, I think it's a very good idea, we never had it on our plans. I agree with the community it works very well. so I think we will put it on our backlog."

and MSFS 2024 will release shortly after September. I expect October 2024

Why don't these third parties use the default weather radar as placeholder until they can do proper ones?

iniBuilds is fine with using Asobo's weather radar.

And yes, the Asobo one is 3D before someone tries to say it isn't again. You can see this easily just slewing up and down and just watch how the Radar image changes.

Or using one of the Garmin equipped planes with a vertical weather radar option.

I don't understand how Inibuilds, Maddog and a whole host of turbo props and GA aircraft can manage to render a believable weather radar using what Asobo have provided yet PMDG and Fenix can't/won't.

Active sky provided data related to water droplets visible to them? That's exactly what Asobo have provided.

This isn't NexRad, this is 3D weather data. I can add precipitation which produces a return and I can change the height of this precipitation which will produce a variable return. Neither PMDG nor Fenix seemed to have provided a coherent explanation as to why they can't use Asobo's 3D weather model.

Was Active Sky able to produce 'real' data on windshear or was that just fudged into the overall effect?

I thought PMDG and Fenix are using WASM?  As far as I understand those types of code cant interface with the default "nexrad."

Martial thought the DLSS blurry glass fix with Nvidia was out but realized shortly after it was never released per someone on his team that he was texting with. He seems surprised by this and indicated he would be getting with his team to figure out why it was not released. Jorg even told him it needed to get done and rolled out.
