Let's consider these facts without seeking conflict.

This is where the issue is with PMDG and a high number of customers not being familiar with a product.

 

PMDG 737 for MSFS in a development status that has us focusing only on critical operational needs..

 

I wonder why is not critical to have a correct interface between the autopilot, flight director, and LNAV.

 

This is where it is so ridiculous that they claim to have a QC process that goes on in the background, yet:

 

we have discovered after the fact that the build released to customers was no, in fact, the same build we were testing- but was instead an earlier build that had been rejected due to some stability problems and features that weren't quite complete.

we are still not sure how we managed to build you a retro-version, but we did

 

And people after the patch was released were so happy about it. I'm afraid that there is a serious problem going on here. 

I hope they improve their decision-making, as the simulation has potential.

There was another update?  I just saw a couple more exterior shots and read that another beta build went out to the testers.  ini might have their 350 out before the 777.

I hear you. But I find it to be kind of a low blow to single out the part where he admits to screwing up and apologizes for it while pushing out a fix. That really isn't necessary.

As for LNAV, they have said several times recently that the 777 is testing with the navdata update that will make it fly RF legs properly and improves F/D as well as LNAV. I've been criticial of the time it's taken for this to materialize myself, but it's coming.

Wonder if we're going to get some cabin announcements as well. Really like this on the Fenix Block 2. Very simple to use also.

They did say in the Q&A that's in the works, although probably not with the inital 777 release. We'll see when/if it comes.

I understand. Unfortunately this is not the first time when they screw something up; this time is "one notch up". With this QC, I have a big issue, not good at all.

RSR is known as an very good pilot and qualified in the 747, Boeing airplanes kind of have similar systems and not so far apart from each other. Why he's not checking personally each update after the programers think that is good to go, is beyond my understanding. It's his own business, perhaps is preoccupied by something else that is badly affecting all this.

I hope so. Just an observation, as a pilot using this good software, I feel very uncomfortable while in AP to see these problems related to FD and LNAV, I have the same reaction as I do in the real airplane, disconnect the bloody AP when I see the airplane wondering in the wrong direction of the turn before and after the WPT in LNAV.  Again, from a real pilot perspective this is critical and gets written up in the MX log. IMHO something is very wrong here to be ignored for so many years and always to find an excuse of not fixing it.

I've gotten back into flying the PMDG the last few days and really enjoying it.  However, I do really miss the lack of any announcements, passenger boarading ambience etc.   It's a very qiuet environment!   

(And no, I won't be addressing that with GSX 😄)

Hopefully the 777 will have announcements and boarding immersion sounds, and those will be back-ported to the 737.

I am with you on this.  The Fenix A320 is super immersive for airline flights.

One question though.  Why don't you address with GSX?  I'm only asking because I use GSX and it's great with the PMDG737 to add the immersion layer.  Customer boarding ambience etc......

I'll not bore you with the details and whines Jase, but I had serious, constant issues with Couatl and eventually deleted it. It's not that I'm 'anti-FSDT' but I am hugely 'anti-Couatl'. 😄  I won't run that thing on my machine.

For immersive boarding sounds and airline announcements, I did discover a free module called "Luke Air Tool".  It's pretty neat.   It has custom announcements for dozens of airlines - built in. 👍
