Corona Municipal Airport (KAJO)

Featured Replies

This is my latest freeware with another small General aviation airport in Southern California: Corona Municipal is in Riverside county (CA) approx. 40 miles east of Los Angeles. It's an uncontrolled airport and is home to 300-350 general aviation aircraft. It's strictly a recreational airport with no commercial flights. Corona airport is well known because of its close proximity to aircraft shop "Aircraft Spruce". It has also few businesses, such as a cafe "Corona Cafe", "Flying Academy" flight training center, and aircraft maintenance and repair. All represented in the scenery.

As usual in my freeware, there're hundreds of small objects to make the airport "live" among several static aircraft. Some handcrafted object are also spread on the scenery with a special attention to apron texture and clean-up of the Bing texture to make the scenery blended in its environment. More features available in the flightsim.to description. Hope you'll enjoy it.

That's wonderful! Will have to visit.

Hi,

Another Vincent excellent work, as always!

I spent a good part of my flight visiting his airports. Not only California, but in France (Toussus le Noble and Le Touquet).

Thank you, Vincent!

By the way, Corona Muni appears surrounded by water. I think it could be some add-on I have installed...

Anyone of you have the same issue?

Regards.

I did my best to be accurate 😉

Corona Airport is in a flood potential area. This certainly explained the walls protected north/south the airport:

But there's maybe a MSFS solution:

Have you installed the MojaveHigh mod ? https://flightsim.to/file/30463/prado-reservoir-and-corona-improvement

Hi,

No, I don't have that add-on.

I'll try it right away!

Thank you, Vincent!

Hi, again,

Yes, the MojaveHigh mod fixes the issue.

It drains the flooded area and eliminates a lot of the ugly spike trees that surrounds the airport.

The airport is beautifully modeled!

Regards.

At least you guys get to see what a lot of the UK is like now after so much rain lol
