I have one question. When the fuel in one of the tanks runs out faster, how to restore the balance of fuel in both tanks? I tried setting the fuel levers to different positions, but it didn't help.

You cross feed the tank that have a least amount of fuel. In other word you shut the fuel feed from one tank (with least fuel) and re-route it to the tank that have the most amount of fuel. Also, with crossfeed  you can expect fullest tank to feed two engine and therefore consume twice as more fuel burn. As soon as fuel amount equalize, switch  cross feed back to normal; otherwise, you get same result with "used to be" fullest tank LOL

I'm not totally sure where this information comes from, but that is not accurate. At the core is, the sim does not support hot swapping avionics. We have advised developers against utilizing hot

  • I'd say FlySimWare Cessna 414 if it can't be the Duke.

Thanks, I'll try that again. Maybe I was not patient)

I'd accept a duke though!

Just finished VIBR-VNST in the turbine Duke with ASFS real weather. What a beautiful and fun flight. Snaking down the valley to find the destination is a great challenge, I can't imagine trying that in a 737.

Yep, fun flight!

Oh brilliant well done! I took off pre-dawn and as soon as the sun came up half way I was gawking at the scenery. And GAWK you must do as there are no navaids to follow. It's quite liberating, man , machine and the elements. Did you land 10 or 28? I saw the apt countdown 20/10/5 miles with no sign of it then I looked down...ohhh it's down THERE?! So I overflew and did some crazy dive circles to make it. NEXT time I will approach from the southwest there's a valley that leads you into 28 fairly nicely.

The 737 with few passengers and 4k of fuel will land at 105/110kts. The reversers fail at that altitude was poor planning by me. I AM going to do it. It's just there now taunting me...

Oh, I forgot to mention I flew the whole trip with zero use of A/P or A/T. It actually makes it much easier with no route flying VFR to hand fly. I'm also going to blame the PMDG 737 having a trim bug where it will NOT nose down past 4. Meaning a stabilised descent is impossible anyway I had to add full flaps, 60% thrust and push nose down to keep it even remotely stable.

OK @Cpt_Piett

Over to you!

VIBR-VNST

3664 feet to 2100ft runways

3571 elevation to 9751

I realized there's no way I'm going to be able to land at VNST in the Fenix 😅

So...

OPaFTKV.jpeg

Familiarization flight from Nairobi to Entebbe, currently at FL380 over Lake Victoria 😎

...

Relevant to this thread: lots of great freeware airports in Nepal that are perfect for the Dukes:

VNKT Tribhuwan International Airport https://flightsim.to/file/54393/tribhuwan-international-airport-kathmandu-nepal

Nepal Bushstrip Upgrade Pack https://flightsim.to/file/8578/nepal-bushstrip-upgrade-pack

VNDP Dolpa Juphal Airport https://flightsim.to/file/1307/dolpha-juphal-airport-v1-0-vndp-nepal

VNST Simikot Airport https://flightsim.to/file/653/simikot-airport-vnst-nepal-v1-0

VNSB Syangboche https://flightsim.to/file/6393/vnsb-syangboche-airport-nepal

VNJL Jumla https://flightsim.to/file/6452/vnjl-jumla-airport-nepal

and last but not least, perhaps my favourite of all (along with Aerosoft's Lukla):

VNJS Jomsom near the Tibetan border - head south "down" the mighty Kali Gandaki valley (deepest in the world) with 8000m+ peaks on each side!

EDIT:

Completely forgot Pokhara (a natural destination from Jomsom) - not the new international airport, but the domestic one. Recreated in amazing detail (been there many times IRL): https://flightsim.to/file/59605/vnpk-pokhara-airport

I landed on 28. I used a/p to get me in  the vicinity while I enjoyed the fantastic scenery. Looked at the terrain on the GTN and saw the valley leading in to 28. I admit I had to do a serious sideslip down into it to maintain my approach speed but got it down and stopped by the end of the runway.

Any landing you walk away from is a good landing!  🙂

Ah yes that's what I did too. Would take a VERY bold simmer pilot to land on 10 first time seeing it!

I walked away too but I should have had one destroyed plane. Sadly MSFS damage/stress everything I set to hard is broken. Or more accurately NOT broken. I can NOT cause damage/crash/stress any more. After that overrun I ran off the cliff edge and into a few buildings to prove it on the video. Anyone ELSE found damage is now non-existent? Or a solution why mine is not working?

I NEED this kind of realism to try sim, gives me incentive to get do hard challenges and land safely. If ac is indestructible and can land on its back I'll go back to FSX!

It was working last time I smashed into the ground or overstressed the airframe

Thanks! Was that recent? Do you have all the damage/stress items ON? I wonder if I have to turn them all off and on again or something. I can't sim on easy mode! :(

I'd LIKE this post but well,,,you know why I can't lol!

Remember movie "Sully"? Especially the part when they show Level D sim?

Saw it when it came out, forgot that scene!

Yes that's exactly what I have now and to me that's UNPLAYABLE.

I like being TERRIFIED that my flight might fail which is why I will do everything to get down safely to alternates etc. I made that post last month about diverting to LUKK (!) when my PMDG lost ALL power. Not quitting sim, no way sir!

I will try solve this tonight can't sim unless I do :D

I get you - I always have crash and engine damage on. Not aircraft stress damage as I won't be able to do barell rolls in the Sting S4 🙂 Can't remember last time it was working... I guess I have not crashed in a while lol.

Getting ready for the challenge! FL410 at Mach .78 somewhere over the Himalayas 😎 After the attempt in the -600 I'll repeat it in the Duke to make this post relevant to the thread 😉

I am a WORD NOT ALLOWED!

I had dev mode on without knowing it as was hidden. In dev/options there is tick box. DISABLE CRASHES.

Turned it OFF and my cartwheeling a320 was put out of its misery.

What a relief!

I have stress on to stop me overspeeding when i fly manual in the 737 which I do a lot! (flying manual that is!)

I try to remember to turn it OFF when GA so opening a window to defog wont explode the plane :D

Glad you got it sorted! I always have crash damage on - like you I don't want to fly in "easy mode".

An update on my non-Duke Himalayan adventures (thanks to you!): I checked the weather at VNPQ using windy.com (no METAR) - cloud base of 200ft lol. VNJL Jumla looked a lot better though. Elevation 7792ft rwy 2200ft / 671m. Got her safely down by nearly stalling her onto the runway (manual throttle), then full manual braking and reverse thrust.
