Sometimes if you're using Direct To vs having a full flight plan loaded the variables won't show.  I don't know why this is.. I keep seeing it randomly.

I don't even use direct to. It can't even calculate 2 way points correctly. Took video of last flight me waving mouse around before the predictable 80 mile error occurred with 5500fpm vnav prediction 80 miles from airport. How does that even pass testing? Devs just blaming asobe for a latest patch breaking every addon is getting old for me. That ALSO is predictable!

  • Guys, just to let everyone know that a few hours ago new official simbrief profiles have been added, for all the dukes they are named BE60, BE6G and B60T https://forum.navigraph.com/t/b60t-s

I'm not totally sure where this information comes from, but that is not accurate. At the core is, the sim does not support hot swapping avionics. We have advised developers against utilizing hot

  • I'd say FlySimWare Cessna 414 if it can't be the Duke.

Has the GNS530 now bugs and problems since SU15? I have not tested it yet. Until now it was always functioning rather fine, but I have never tried Vnav or other more sophisticated planning in GA planes because this is more an airliner-thingy for the Fenix.... 😺

@martinboehme Gorgeous screenshots and I did learn something I didn’t know about midnight sun in Mo I Rana 😊

You inspired me to start a Norway tour in the Duke, south to north. But just after taking off from ENCN Kristiansand the sim (and Windows) crashed… Since then I’ve been busy with other stuff, but I’ll return to the project soon, hopefully.

Bon voyage to ENLK, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the Lofoten Islands!

Ouch, sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for the next attempt. I had some issues with CTDs a while ago, but none recently (knock on wood...).

Thank you, I'm really looking forward to it! It'll probably be another week before I get round to making the flight but (checks internet) sunset in Leknes isn't until July 19, so I have plenty of time. ☀️

On that note - if continuing this slightly off-topic segment is OK - I'd like to thank you both for all the above posts, which gave me a pretty good idea of my own Norway tour.  I just landed in ENBO Bodø - pretty much a straight shot from Iceland - in the Lear 35 and I'm ready to swap back into the Duke to enjoy cruising around.  Here's what I picked up on from your suggestions:

That’s a good selection of Norwegian destinations. Personally I would probably include the west coast for the fjords and the mountains. E.g. ENVA-ENAL-ENSD-ENBR. Then I would do ENBR-ENGM-ENCN. ENOV is a good alternative to ENSD (but closer to ENAL). Both have spectacular approaches though.

Excellent! I look forward to hearing where you go and what you see along the way!

If anyone is bothered by the slightly off-topic posts, please let us know, and we'll move this to its own thread.

Maybe we should start a Slartibartfast Appreciation Society?

Next leg: Mo i Rana ENRA to Leknes ENLK

I could have accepted runway 02 as the tailwind component would have been only 2 knots, but I'm glad I decided to approach the valley from the north. What a stupendously stunning approach.

Another great read, with stunning pictures! I did Bodø-Leknes and my first single-engine landing at rwy 20. Such a beautiful area, and perfect for the Dukes!

Just got the piston version yesterday and took it on two flights.  The plane is incredible!  Im loving it beyond expectations.

one question and then one improvement-  question, so on both flights with the factory BE60 Duke, I’ll hand fly up to cruise altitude and then engage the autopilot in altitude and nav mode once leveling off at cruise altitude.  The nav mode works incredibly well and tracks the course perfectly.  Alt mode struggles to hold the assigned altitude and usually levels off somewhere between 500 and 800 feet off of the altitude selected usually above.  Am I doing something wrong( likely) or is this a glitch with the autopilot?

The suggestion I would have is the EFB tablet, while cool, serves really very little practical purpose once in flight.  It would be incredible if navigraph was integrated onto the EFB like Fenix a320.  As a real world pilot myself, the use of iPads and programs like ForeFlight are so common in GA cockpits that it would be awesome to replicate that with navigraph on the tablet EFB in the piston duke.

This is the ONLY reason I use an efb at all. That and chocks /pitot covers etc. All that engine stuff means nothing to me as it's immersion breaking so don't use.

So yes to charts for me too!

Try pressing B when you are trying to level off. Just a hunch about a previous BS issue.

I've never seen this (and I don't press "B").

Just a wild guess: Are you setting both altimeters to the same setting? (Now that I write this, I realize I don't know which altimeter the autopilot uses - I would guess it's the left one, but I'm not sure.)
