It happen because when user learn about support being pulled from X Plane  they began to contact Sayintention.AI and express their desires for X plane support. The effort made on discords in getting the developers in touch with LR to help resolve any issues apparently were iron out and now we can look forward for Sayintention.Al to come to Xplane.

Great news. But I think it is only a confirmation for the increasing success of XP12. This should attract even more users in future.

Not sure that's the angle I'd go for when they literally stopped support because the numbers were so low and "shrinking rapidly", now they are bringing back support because people straight up begged for it, not because the numbers improved. That is not some big win for XP.

So as we see they were simply wrong. The last navigraph-survey showed an increase of 25% of users using XP as their favourite sim (vs a year before). And Laminar stated that they had sold the most copies of XP12 at release than any previously release version (included XP11 that was the most succesful). Added to that you can count the new (disappointed) users coming from MSFS out of the trillions of generated XBox users and who helps XP to grow. It's truly the best time to be a simmer right now and the future seems bright 🙂

Austin Myers appears to be a cheerleader for SayIntentions which goes a long way in the XPlane user base.

What does a Navigraph survey matter when their own data, for their own product said it was shrinking? But I guess in X-Plane land, that doesn't matter.

The reason that pilot as you put it "begged for it" was because they were expecting support for the addon for X Plane from earlier announcement and was unaware Sayintention.Al decided to drop it. That was due to word not getting out to enough user, through the current news feed that would satisfy Sayintention.AI confidence that enough user would be interest and therefore assume the market is not ripe for it. As it turn out there were enough interested which was enough to change their mind. Given the type technology use in the case, it is win for X plane users and it will help draw more to the sim.

What are you talking about? It is well known that they are doing the only wide spreaded survey about flightsims. Are you saying it is not representative? And LR is lying? So which one then tells the right numbers? What is your secret source that xontradicts those numbers? Funny to demonstrate that openly how you can turn positive news into something negative. I know, many are hoping since years for XP to die. But that never happens as you see. It’s actually the opposite 😊

Having users beg for support after it was dropped, is not a win, it's never a win. That is the most unsustainable, synthetic way of gauging actual interest rather than just some community led temporary campaign that doesn't actually show real interest, rather than user-lead action. So right now, this says absolutely nothing and hailing this as some sort of win for X-Plane is absolutely delusional. If this had happened to MSFS, people here would rightly so have called it out and said something along the same lines. However, we'll see in the coming months if the support and and amount of users actually increase with this new public interest and if poor 'advertisement' was actually the cause -- Then I will gladly call this a great win.

If it is $29 a month in a failing economy, dont expect it to run too long.

mmmm.... Since when did a screaming minority trigger a $30/month product to magically reappear? Never. More likely that their claimed numbers and reasons actually aren't as pessimistic (I believe "bombastic" might also be appropriate here) as they originally touted.

Or they finally feel comfortable enough with the status of their own product (not a beta anymore?) that they can re-apply dev resources to supporting XP.

Or they see the continued commitment of LR to a sim that has indeed grown in sales from the previous iteration and continues to grow and improve.

Bodes well for XP all around. Well angled, Franz007.
