May 19, 20242 yr I saved my pennies and bought the Duke...now it will not takeoff...I am aware of the Control Lock and turned it off (i think)...I am also aware of the switches to the left of the yoke...I placed in automatic mode... the plane just sits there and the engines just slowly stop running...help...second question...where is the manual for the plane?.... ..any help appreciated...

Does CTRL+e get you going? And have you looked at the tablet to the left of your seat? Edited May 19, 20242 yr by Bert Pieke Bert

May 21, 20242 yr Author No Bert, sadly it does not...it seems as if i'm going to have to learn "cold and dark" procedures... any other thoughts? ...all suggestions appreciated...
May 21, 20242 yr I am not quite sure what "all the switches to the left of the yoke" mean. BUT. You spent good money on a good aircraft and to get any semblance of value out of that I suggest at LEAST reading – and understanding – the user manual (Bert's link or in the installation folder) and if that fails watch good (from commercial pilots or similar) YT videos. Any turbo-prop is a complex machine; you may have likely already cooked the engines (user manual on how to disable damage), in which case I'd imagine the aircraft will load again with that damage in place. Learn the procedure (and why WHAT is done WHEN), follow the detailed check lists (they are in the MSFS interface) and learn when to introduce fuel (and why then). It may seem frustrating when you just want to fly the beast but trust me: the start-up procedure is why 99% of us have bought this beaut. Master the turbine Duke (I'm assuming you mean the TB when writing the turbo Duke) and you'll want the reciprocating version (which is more complex to start and manage ... again, the manual will show you how to pre oil and inject a suitable amount of fuel before 'turning the key'. Like a real aircraft this is about understanding and procedures. When you know how you will love it (and want the other one, if you don't already have both).
May 21, 20242 yr I am a little perplexed by this post. If you have been interested in this plane for sometime, which it sounds as if you have, I am sure you picked up on the fact this plane is meant for those looking for something "study level." It shouldn't be a surprise that you can't just hit CTRL-E to start the engines. That said, as posted above, YouTube is your friend. There are MANY video tutorials up for this AC. The developer has one up specifically for the engine start which walks you through the process for both the piston and the Turbo. Frankly, the Turbine is fairly straightforward, the piston, you can do everything right and you still have cross your fingers and hope it starts 🙂 Edited May 21, 20242 yr by lehbird
May 21, 20242 yr A quick cheat, sort of. Use dev mode after you are ready to start the plane. In dev menu change planes to something really simple, even a Cub. And start it up. Then change back to the Duke. This also worked in FSX like it does in MSFS. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
