The usual boring technical explanation: Yes, of course, we know passengers will look dark at night but, it's not as if they are like that because of a bug or something, they are just missing some

Congratulations to the GSX team. The issue with the Fenix custom liveries is solved with version 3.0.2. Awesome.

Intel Core Ultra i7-265KF (3.6 GHz/4.9 GHz), MSI Inspire 3X RTX 5070 TI (16Gb), DDR7 32Go, screen ASUS XG32VQR 32'', Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controls, Bravo Throttle Quadrant, Pro Pedal CH Products, TCA Sidestick Airbus, TCA Boeing Yoke Edition, Winwing EFIS Combo, Tobii Eye Tracker

I'm on 3.0.2 and can see passengers boarding the plane, but they disappear as soon as they sit down. Is this a separate setting that I need to enable to see them after boarding?

Try to run FSDT installer, go to "config", uncheck the Fenix Folder, close to come back to the main menu, then go to config again, and check the Fenix Folder (FSDT has to scan your liveries installed).

Hope it will help.

Edit : I suppose that you fly with the Fenix. It does not work for other planes like the PMDG.

This update to GSX has made me switch from always flying the pmdg 737 to the fenix. Now this gsx update is available it will also stop me buying the 777 until it works with that - I am presuming it won't on release

Agreed. It’s a mystery to me why he is in the position of customer engagement person or program manager.

In better news: congrats on the launch @virtuali!
Incredible customer service (as always) and thank you for continuing to innovate and advancing our hobby.

There is zero condescension in his post.

It's simple matter of fact.

Ahh, this option was not activated for me at first, thank you!

You can be sure support for Seated Passengers in the PMDG will come. There are several reasons Fenix HAD to be first:

Practical

This was a huge release for us, and the way the system works, it requires the installer to be able to deal with official and unofficial liveries, using different method in their file organization and, sometimes, they have flat plain errors, which need to be handled to be sure the installer won't crash. It was complex enough with the Fenix, and we are still working on support for some unofficial liveries. You could only guess the mess it might caused if we tried to support more than one airplane in the first release.

Technical

The already discussed two issues with the PMDG are: the lack of an animated cockpit door, and the ability to switch the cabin configuration on the fly, which is a bit tricky to support and, ideally, should be blocked by PMDG if passengers are already on board. Even if we could ideally sort the lack of a cockpit door by using something else (like the Seatbelts signs switch, for example), it's less intuitive than the cockpit door, and it's hard enough to explain users they *must* open the door to see passengers in VC, it would be really too much if every airplane had its own different method, not very user friendly.

Moral

Because the exceptional support and the general attitude Fenix had towards GSX, they HAD to be rewarded by being the first one to be supported. Note that, GSX publishes a list of LVar that developers can read to check if that particular Seat is occupied, and this can be used to link the actual seating situation in GSX, with the seating diagram on the EFB, we anticipated it to Fenix, and they are willing to support it as well.

The next airplane to be supported will be Pilot's DHC7, because the Stefan is a friend, the plane is smaller so it won't get basically any fps hit and we wanted to show a different kind of airplane in the next release but, after the first batch of fixes for the various Fenix liveries, I think adding new airplanes should be faster.

BTW, does anybody know if there are official names for the seats in the Dash-7 ? I couldn't find any.

Have not read the 7 pages of the thread, but any chance of this being done for the BAE 146.

Seems to me the BAE is a perfect candidate.

Indeed, it would probably be the 3rd one, after the Dash-7
