  1. Every is a critic I suppose. I watch his videos regularly and I don’t see any of the things you describe here. Frankly, I’m grateful for the content he creates.
  2. It’s not just stutters but can also be a reduction in frame rate. A great way to check for this issue is to pan the camera around 360 degrees horizontally and then do another 360 degree rotation. If this is not fluid then VRAM might be an issue. Of course there might also be a complex object in view, so I would also look at the VRAM amount to ensure that stutters are related to the stutters.
  3. Are you using DX12? I assume so, since you probably want to make use of the “Frame Generation” feature unique to 40xx cards, but asking just in case. Dx12 is known to use more VRAM and (according to my limited knowledge) the VRAM management is up the GPU, and what I have experienced with my 4070Ti (which only has 12 GB of VRAM) is that Dx12 seems to be more VRAM hungry.
  4. I have and I can assure you the visual clarity is amazing 😂
  5. For what it’s worth: I have the same issue, sometimes more frequently, some times less frequently. I raised it in Navigraph’s support forum and was told that this shouldn’t happen, but ultimately no resolution was reached.
  6. Good choice. I don’t think you can go wrong with the 7800x3d. I’d recommend to pair it with 6000Mhz RAM. Seems to be the sweet spot got this platform.
  7. The iGPU is actually only used to render the Fenix gauges (ND, PFD, MCDU). I have a single monitor connected. In essence, the iGPU frees up some resources on the dedicated graphics card, but this is a unique feature that is (afaik) only available on the Fenix A320. Regarding the 7800x3d vs 7900x3d: the former has two more CPU cores available for use by MSFS (as the 7900x3d parks half the cores during gaming) but as you pointed out, the frequency is higher. I haven’t compared the two, but I saw some benchmarks that showed a modest speed advantage for the 7900x3d, while others showed the opposite. Hard to say, and might depend on the specific situation and used apps. I chose the 7900x3d purely because I got it for a good price (probably because most reviewers hated it 🙂 ). I’m not quite sure where my bottleneck is now, but I think I’m mainly main-thread limited.
  8. I have just gone from 5800x3d to a 7900x3d, mainly because I got the chip at a very good price on Prime Day. I’m quite happy with the results and would estimate a 15 to 20% increase in frame rate and improvement in overall smoothness. Most importantly (and the main reason I did this) performance in the Fenix A320 has significantly improved, as I am using the integrated the AMD graphics chip render the Fenix displays. I’m running the Fenix at high quality and am getting the same performance as the PMDG 737. Note though that I am using PBO for the 7900x3d (which the 5800x3d is not capable of) and I’m at 1440p, not 4K. I also invested in fast RAM (6000Mhz). Graphics card is a 4070 Ti.
  9. Hi Ken (I assume), I’m not sure if the options described here are actually available on your specific graphics card generation, but it doesn’t hurt to try out a few different settings. Just take note of your original settings so you can switch back.
  10. I’m the exact same boat here and while I think it’s a great card which delivered amazing performance, I do agree that the VRAM limit is a problem in detailed airports with AI. I’m actually contemplating selling the card and going with the 4080 or perhaps even the 4090 (painful price point though!). For now I’m just waiting to see if there is anything to the rumours that higher VRAM cards (4080Ti or Super) are inbound. That said, if you are happy avoiding complex 3rd party airports then I think the 4070ti is probably a good choice when considering value for money.
  11. I had that exact combination and ran it on a 4K TV to test. Worked well, but will need to drop settings from Ultra.
  12. Same here. Complained multiple times in their forum but this is still not resolved. I have it happen mid flight sometimes. Very frustrating.
  13. Looking forward to giving this a try and crossing my fingers for a 787-9 mod to complete the set.
  14. You might, but don’t speak for the rest of us. The current gen of Flightsim has been the best value for money I have had in a software purchase (commercial or gaming). why wouldn’t they charge full price for the next installment?
  15. Hi @kiek, I have been wondering for a while if a potential fix for those types of issues could be to temporarily ignore injected data during takeoff and landing and instead use canned data to set the aircraft’s attitude and speed? For example, PSXT could begin ignoring RT data once an aircraft is over the threshold and set the aircraft up for a smooth landing with realistic deceleration and hand back to RT once the aircraft taxies off the runway or if a go around is detected. Worst that could happen is that the aircraft location isn’t aligned with the real world exit taxiway the aircraft in which case some sort sort of location reconciliation would need to happen (warp to location, or something smarter). Alternatively, PSXT could use the RT data but “sense check” and override some values during take off, landing and taxi. For example, if an aircraft taxies with the fuselage at a 45 degree angle to the direction of travel, then correct that angle to 0.
  16. I agree that PSXT is the best solution by far and love the constant improvements that @kiek is making. Thanks a million for all your efforts!
  17. I love the Ini Builds A310. Great addition to the sim and at an unbeatable price 🙂
  18. Given that only one of the two chiplets has 3D cache, the cheapest processor may well turn out to be the best (or at least best bang for buck) option. All depends on how well Windows schedules and allocates cores, as well as the clock boost frequency. Looking forward to the reviews.
  19. Fully agreed. Good value of you only ever want one model, bad value for those of us who’d like to fly across the whole NG family. Personally, I don’t feel my previous business with PMDG is valued.
  20. Interesting poll result. I think PMDGs decision to sell these aircraft without offering discounts for owners of other models is backfiring badly, and rightly so.
  21. This has to be the best supported and maintained code in the entire flightsim world. Thanks so much for your hard work and frequent updates Nico!
  22. Still no EFB. Not planning on giving PMDG any more business until they delivered the scope they promised. More generally speaking: they need a decent project manager who understands how to deliver software in a more timely manner.
  23. Really good information on this issue on this thread. I am running a 6800 XT and have the issue as well and consequently keep to DX11. Question for 40xx owners: I was considering switching back to team green for frame regeneration, but I believe that is not available under DX11, correct?
  24. Gotta say: this anniversary update feels incredibly generous to me. I would have been happy with any of the the additions, but the entire package is incredible. This awesome Easter egg is the icing on a 12-level cake 🙂
