Flight Simulation Is Becoming Too Expensive ?
Never been cheaper imho. So many amazing freeware gems, and an incredibly dense roster of “default” aircraft that should please most folks. Yes, there are many more ways to spend money now, but that’s just a reflection of a broader base of users, being catered for by more developers (hardware and software). In the end, everyone wins. Only major pain point is the pricing of current graphics cards and the temp blob in RAM pricing. just my 2 cents…

L-1011 TriStar Systems Issues vs Delta POH – Not Study-Level
Don’t think that’s fair. They (Ini Builds) have produced some good quality add ons and have provided consistent updates for their products. I agree that they have a tendency to release too early, but with some patience you’re likely to get a good product with a lot of system depth. Kudos to @Joshua757 for providing useful feedback. Let’s hope the Ini team see it.

Windows update causing issues ( KB5074109 )
Thanks so much for sharing this info @mobeans10. I had these issues after the last update but had not realized they were connected (did some HW changes at the same time).

FSLabs NEO or wait for FENIX? (MSFS2020)
A bit, but not a show stopper for me. More generally: FSL released an experimental patch yesterday, which made the aircraft finally usable for me. VRAM issues have been addressed somewhat.

A350 ULR is out
Apologies for going briefly off- topic, but I’m curious to learn more about these skip-ahead programs. Could you point me in the right direction?

FSLabs A321Neo Released
It’s not quite what you asked, but I have no performance issues with the Fenix and significant issues with VRAM saturation with the FSLabs. Have done four flights so far, and three landings were a stutter-fest. Un-flyable. Based on this, I’d suggest to stay away if the Fenix is giving you trouble. There is a thread on this in the FSLabs forum, and I’m certainly not alone.

FSLabs A321Neo Released
- textures are OK, but quite a step below the competition, especially external. - the install tool is pretty buggy. Had to try several times to get it to work and eventually found that I didn’t have enough disk space. No error from the tool though. - the MCDUs go back to the overview page whenever the FS menu was opened. - GSX integration is very comprehensive, but also quite unintuitive. Wish I could turn on the standard menu like in the Inibuilds A350. Major issue for me is the VRAM consumption. My 4080 (16 gig) can’t handle this on 1440p with high settings and AutoFPS. FS2024 SU2, RTX4080, 1440p, settings high, AutoFPS, DLSS (quality, latest version with swapper tool). No issues with Fenix, PMDG 777, Ini A300/350.

Ini A350 1.0.9 is OUT. Huge update.
Really surprised to hear that a some people still face major issues. Runs very well for me and has done since about 1.03., although I did at some stage need to reinstall, clear WASM folder and switch to standard nav database before re-enabling Navigraph. Perhaps worth a try for those of you who get crashes or unexpected behavior.

New and cheaper alternative to Navigraph
Yes, it’s all very odd. And it’s ongoing still. Navigraph is of course entitled to ask me to prove that I’m a paying customer, but in my case their servers seem to have the recall of a goldfish.

New and cheaper alternative to Navigraph
Glad to see an alternative to Navigraph coming up (other then Aerosoft's now defunct half-baked effort) I'm actually happy with every aspect of Navigraph's service and don't mind their pricing (as an Navigraph Unlimited subscriber). However, the random but all-to-frequent need to re-authenticate (including mid-flight) is extremely frustrating for me. I get that it might be needed once a month or so, but I am getting this randomly a few times a weekend. I posted in their forums and followed up a few times, but I never got a fix or at least a decent answer. Others are clearly having the same issue. If the other guys manage to do better then they have my business.

Still waiting for the TFDI MD11 for public release
I hope they don’t wait. I’m far more excited about the MD11 than buying the 777 for the third time.

GSX v3.0.0 - Seated Passengers update
Agreed. It’s a mystery to me why he is in the position of customer engagement person or program manager. In better news: congrats on the launch @virtuali! Incredible customer service (as always) and thank you for continuing to innovate and advancing our hobby.

iniBuilds A300-600 has been released! (reopened)
There is indeed something very wrong with the sounds. It’s not just that it’s bad, it’s completely illogical. Almost as if the sound config was referencing the wrong sound files and/or volume is inverted (sound effects get louder when it should decrease in volume etc.). Hoping this gets fixed soon.

Just Flight Fokker F28 Professional released
Same here. Complained multiple times in their forum but this is still not resolved. I have it happen mid flight sometimes. Very frustrating.

Biggest single VAS killers inside P3D (list)
Would be an interesting list to have, if only to make recommendations to folks who struggle with OOMs. Would be quite easy to compile too, just a little time intensive (too time intensive for me sadly).

MS FSX vs DT FSX SE: The Conclusive Performance Benchmark
Looks to me that the zoom factor differs between the two sims which might explain the difference in frame rate.

PrecipitFX
Used to be an option on the 737-200 only afaik. Can anyone comment on performance with this addon?

Is anyone talking about P3D Anti-aliasing?
I just got my 780ti and I have terrible shimmering. I would be interested in what setting you selected in the driver profile?

From gtx680 to 780ti in p3d v2.3
alepro21 replied to AndyCYXU's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcGreat to hear - I just made the exact same swap, but I am still waiting for the new card to arrive.

Many stutters while running a steady fps
I too recently joined the P3D club and am very disappointed when it comes to smoothness. After all I had read I expected an improvement on FSX but for me at least Prepar 2.3 comes nowhere near FSX smoothness despite getting consistent 30 frames (locked). I tried unlimited but it was worse for me.

Market research. New flight simulator. No more fsx.cfg nonsense
By developer buy-in I am talking about the add-on market. Ideally any new platform would be designed from the ground up with 3rd party extensions in mind and with input from influential add-on publishers or developers. That means building and releasing development kits early and tailoring APIs to requests from developers.

Market research. New flight simulator. No more fsx.cfg nonsense
Credit to you for getting the ball rolling. Personally I'm happy to support anyone who will venture into this market and frankly I am a little astonished that this hasn't happened yet. With crowd funding platforms like Kickstarter available and so much community interest in a new development for flight simulation I think that there is a lot of possibility here. What we need though is early developer buy in for the project. If the developers don't join the platform it is doomed from the start as users simply won't follow unless the sim is very comprehensive to begin with.

Will REX Simair Experience be the new FSPassengers/Airhauler?
Maybe REX bought the MS Flight code?

Occulus Rift and Flight Simulator X?
I was recently looking I to getting Nvidias 3D shutter glasses, but learned that some things are not rendered in 3D in FSX. Apparently runway/papi lighting and many effects will appear as 2D overlays while everything else will have depth perception. Once I learned that I gave up on the idea, and I'm afraid Occulus Rift will face the same issues, if it will work at all.

FTX: Global VECTOR Released
Is that a fact? If so it's a deal breaker for me. I was looking forward to enhancing the areas UTX does not currently cover while continuing to use UTX where it exists.
