PSXT as static parked aircraft generator

Featured Replies

PSXT is running, but it is showing a Community Folder on the C drive. Mine is in D:\MSFS. No liveries found. Can someone pleas explain to me how I get it to work for static aircraft only? I have static aircraft set @ 100%.

  • As mentioned above, FSLTL, AIG and FSTraffic don't know who parks where, so you end up with traffic parking all over the place, including GA and Cargo (for what little GA and cargo liveries are in FSL

Section 3.2 of the manual might help.

I think I have worked out how to do it, but I will let you know!

The airport parking is greyed out @ 30%. I need it to be 100%. How do I set this? In addition, the manual states that LIVE WEATHER needs to be set to ON, but I do not want Live Weather. I assume that this setting is only for LIVE ACTIVE traffic for those users with a licence?

It looks like I have it working now. I have changed the airport parking setting to 100% in the parameters.xml file. I selected EBBR Brussels National in PSXT, and it counted 61 aircraft parked on the ground at around 6:15 AM. A quick check in the simulator seemed to indicate that all of the airlines were realistic. Great stuff

You better not set the parking percentage at 100 % in the parameters.xml file, unless you want that percentage for every airport in the world...

Instead, go to an airport, wait till it has loaded, then set the percentage in the PSXT user interface, wait till it has been updated. The next time you go to that airport the percentage will be as before (it is saved in your Learned file for that airport, amongst other settings, such as MaxFit)

Why would I not want it for every airport in the world?

It will fill 100% of the parking spots, slowing you to a crawl at larger airports.

No, it will try to fill 100% ...

It is not very likely you ever reach 100% because of models/liveries needed that you have not installed in MSFS.

Besides, there are parameters that reduce the number of parking positions filled, even if you have set it at 100%. For instance you can say that you only want aircraft that fit the current half hour at the current day of the  week (MaxFit=0). Other parameters are the matching depth, set it to 2 then you will only get perfect matches (model+airline livery), which reduces the total number, and  park soft (set it off). Everything is deccribed in the Manual.

About performance: you don't have to be afraid it will slow down your Sim a lot. These are all static (AI) aircraft, after being spawned they do not need more updates.
100 static parked is a piece of cake, no problem.

Hi Nico;
Sorry if you have replied to this earlier. Does the time and day affects the parking thats being generated? (I mean in the free version).

Thank you

This is a good option when trying to save a few frames or if like me, during the summer, the limited use of the simulator does not justify the RT subscription.  Another great addition by Nico for the PSXT program.

Yes it does.

I must be doing something wrong, because on my system, using PSXT to display static aircraft seems to have a significant impact on frame rate, at least at large airports with a/c like the Fenix or PMDG models. I don't use it for that reason. It could be that my system and choice of operating parameters puts me very close to a critical threshold that is crossed with this product. I also don't use third part airports, etc., probably for the same reason.

What ai aircraft are you using for psxt to inject?

You do need a fairly strong CPU and GPU to have lots of AI even if they are just static. Reduce your psxt % to something more appropriate for your system.
