Microsoft Flight Simulator | City Update 8: Las Vegas

Anyone using both at the same time? Any issues?

Only conflics I've seen are the two Las Vegas spheres overlapping and the water fountains.

FlyTampa has photogrammetry exclusions around all their custom buildings, so there's no issues with the photogrammetry overlapping.

  • on your system, not on mine, never had any problem with FPS and vegas

The flytampa city scenery has an fps bug, so this will be a nice addition.

I get two slight load pauses using the Flytampa scenery on Runway 01 approach. They aren't too bad to be sim breaking luckily.

But yes I can always count on exactly when and where they will happen. I'm using VR though...

I can concur with this, looking at certain parts of the city has a very noticeable impact. I hope FT can sort that.

I think it might come down to version.  I think those running the latest version with the Sphere report issues.   I am unsure which version I am on but with Lossless Frame Generator (see other thread) set up and running correctly flying into KLAS yesterday was spectacular.  That was prio to any City update, just the FT version.

Folks hate PG that much? Sheesh go fly XP12 then....

There is an option in MSFS to use/not use PG - why should an MSFS owner use XP12 just because their choice is not to activate it?

I have the latest update and no problems, in my opinion it's because we have so many diversity in systems and brands... and some of us have really beavy PC's and some a bit older.

If you want to use FlyTampas Airport only and Asobos Strip, that's not possible.

These City Updates are pretty pointless for non PG users. Inevitable, but annoying nonetheless.

One must understand context.....👆

maybe it's the videocard we have the 7900xtx they have a 4090

Maybe, but it's difficult to tell as hardly anyone is running the same hardware and software, there are thousands of variables.

For example I boringly run MSFS on a 1440p single monitor at 60 hz with 50% Vsync. At Ultra settings everything is smooth, even at the busiest airports and the GFX card runs at 50-60% power so the PC stays cool and quiet.

the FlyTampa Las Vegas landmarks are a separate folder from the airport, so you can use just the airport if you remove that folder.

No, you can't since FlyTampa has placed exclusion rectangles over the strip. If you do that the strip will be empty.

Why would they include the exclusion rectangles in the airport scenery and not the landmark scenery?

this is a bummer, because I would have liked to use both as Asobo's area stretches out more further than only the strip

once you download the Vegas  update in content manager you can uninstall the Vegas strip version  and keep the photogrammetry one install, cause  the Vegas strip is the one that causing conflicts with fly tampa and also reduce the fps due doubles the buildings

Well, you can still use both. There will be a few glitches like the double sphere and some minor stuff but other than that it looks fine for now.

Disregard: Apparently you can uninstall Asobos Strip separately.
