Instead of you selectively & deceptively misquoting,

It is indeed Meta /Oculus that actually has the lion’s share of the $capital dedicated to the hardware & software & R&D in the VR space in 2024…

That's great and all!

It still doesn't justify one wasting an additional $500 for a Quest Pro then acting as if that HMD is somehow worthy enough to totally skip and miss out on a Somnium VR1 HMD.

We love Meta and all but NO the Quest Pro isn't on the level of visual fidelity as the VR1.

What about the quality of the optical stack?

The Quests’ pancakes are really very good…

I use Quest Pro with Virtual Desktop app (VXDR), no Quest Rift PC software --- works great.

PS - DeoVR is another amazing app (no it doesn't work for flightsim, but let me tell you that it has reduced my travel to Las Vegas...it is too good).

Now, PS VR2 is coming with a PC upgrade later this Aug - Let us see on what happens with it

Somnium & Pimax both have fugly form factors,

Why would I possibly care what the thing looks like? I'm wearing it, so I can't see it, and no matter what headset we use, we all look like dorks when we're wearing them. 😉

these videos are meaningless (captured from the 2D-monitor instead of through-the-VR-lense). They don't show the visual quality compared to other VR headsets like Pimax Crystal Light. the camera pass through is a nice feature though. according to testers, visual and build quality seems high, and so is its price. unfortunately no integrated audio and front heavy:

Somnium VR1 vs. Pimax Crystal Light

I will still wait until Pimax Crystal Super and Somnium VR2 before I will make a decision:
