Our Olympians are briefed on flag etiquette.  It should be displayed with the stars on the right.  It should not be worn as a garment.  It should never touch the ground.  I can understand displaying the stars on the left or, as I saw it once, with the star field upside down in the excitement of the moment.  But spreading it on the ground and lying down on top of it takes away her moment of victory for someone who spent 26 years defending that flag and doing so in two wars.  Shame on her!

Well, she isn't the only one. Track and Field is notorious for the same thing, and you can go all the way back to the 1992 Dream Team, when Jordan and company dragged the flag around and wore them around as capes.

So, it happens. I appreciate your Service to our Nation, but things like that happen in moments of youthful exuberance. Last Flag Day I saw Elementary school kids waving the American Flag around at the school across the street from my house, dragging it on the ground. The Adults escorting them did nothing I've seen the Middle School kids lowering the Flag from the flagpole at the end of the school day and not even folding it in the proper fashion. Do their actions draw the same amount of ire?

Ah, my question should have been are there relief Bowlers in cricket: does the bowler who starts a game have to continue playing if his performance is inadequate during a game or can he be replaced? (By the way, these are bowlers on our side of the Atlantic)

Speaking of sports, you missed your calling. With a name like yours, you would have been perfect as a place kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs. I can just see the newspaper headline:

CHIEFS’ PROUDFOOT KICKS K.C. TO SUPERBOWL TITLE!

Yes they do.  And if I am in their presence when they do that I tell them it's wrong and that the flag should bed respected.

I understand generational change and the way of thinking changes over time.  But our Constitution and our flag deserve our reverence and those who served under it either in the armed forces or in other government service recognize that.  And we should correct those who may be word not allowed of it's importance and teach them flag etiquette on the spot when such disrespect is done in our presence.  I have done that.  I sometimes see a pickup truck with the flag flying from a short mast on the truck.  When the flag is filthy and tattered and torn I politely tell them how to dispose of it and to replace it with a new one.

I don't know if they still pledge allegiance to the flag in schools every morning, but they used to.  As a symbol of our republic it deserves the same respect our republic does.

Lotus still around making cars like the Emira. MG are Chinese owned and making a very affordable EV and hybrid's. Jaguar still around.

Sorry but the Trampoline is something you practice to make you better at a real sport, like Gymnastics or High Diving or Freestyle Skiing etc
