August 29, 20241 yr Moderator I read today that an older lady was found dead at her desk at the Wells Fargo office in Tempe, Arizona... ...after four days! Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
August 29, 20241 yr This is very sad, 4 days passed away at her desk and no one checked in on her, and her boss even emailed her and got no reply. Another story also in the news, a company on a retreat abandoned one of their employees on the mountain, and his co-workers took 5 hours to call for help. Edit: I think we have become a new 'ME' generation Edited August 29, 20241 yr by Matthew Kane Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

Not sure what is going on with companies these days And the sad part is that companies will simply ban these retreats from now on. There, they did something about that 🤦♂️ Edited August 29, 20241 yr by Luis Hernandez Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. There, they did something about that 🤦♂️ I am a small business owner and treated my staff to a retreat last November that ended up being a disaster (for me) Following the few years of random lockdowns and restrictions from 2020 to 2022 we cancelled all or our annual staff parties, so I decided for 2023 with all the money we saved to fly all my staff to Christchurch and 2 nights weekend getaway and hotel in the city to show my appreciated for everything they did during the global pandemic, first night live music, second night fancy dinner. The weekend away was amazing until Sunday when we were flying home. We got on the plane and took off and on landing into Wellington the plane did a go around and went back to Christchurch due to fog, when we landed their were no more flights until Tuesday afternoon, and no hotels. so we had to rent capsules to sleep in near the airport that night which were extremely uncomfortable. the next night staff found family and friends to stay with and I got a room downtown again. On Tuesday afternoon we met at the airport, and got on the flight, and when it tried landing in Wellington it did another go around and went back to Christchurch again due to fog. No more flights until Thursday now. So we gave up on the Airlines and decided to book a bus to the Ferry terminal (4 hour bus ride) and a Ferry to Wellington (4 hour Ferry). We were halfway to the ferry terminal when the bus had a problem, so when we finally arrived at the ferry terminal the bus was late and the ship was sailing away. We did catch another one later that afternoon but I was out another $550 because the tickets didn't have cancelation. so we finally caught a later ferry and although it was a beautiful blue sky day no winds and perfect scenery we didn't look at it, we were so frazzled we never left the bar. So that was three days business lost on a trip that was meant to celebrate no more business disruptions. Never Again this was like Trains, Planes and Automobiles New Zealand Edition 😁 Edited August 29, 20241 yr by Matthew Kane Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

I watched that on Good Morning America yesterday. Yeah, I'll bet things just might be a bit on the tense side when this fellow goes back to work! I know that I'd certainly have a few choice words if such had happened to me... 🤬 Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

According to remarks made by collegues, many have still been working from home, and because of where her cubicle was located, there wasn't anyone who would have seen her much less know that she had died. I hope that whatever the proximate cause of her death, it was quick and painless! 💝 Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
