Oops. I think it was an A350. I don’t think Delta has 787.

Hey hey hey, the media says it was a Delta 787 then it was a Delta 787 lol!  Even when they try to get it right which isn't often, they get it wrong.

If it was a 787 its wing would have dropped off and the CRJ would have carried on undamaged.

Technically it could be repaired, but the cost would probably far exceed the aircraft’s current market value. The CRJ has been out of production for quite some time - there are no replacement tail assemblies available from Mitsubishi, and likely no structural parts to rebuild the existing tail that was knocked off.

The aircraft will likely be stripped of all parts that could be re-used: engines, avionics and interior furnishings, and the airframe will then be scrapped.
