Perhaps it's my OCD but I always stick to plausible AC and liveries while flying on VATSIM. That means I have tons of liveries for FBW A320 and PMDG 738 and rarely use widebodies (mostly when the middle east is online ^_^). Since Iran has quite active community, I was thinking of doing some domestic routes there, but the only AC I have matching the Iran Air/Mahan Air fleets would be the iniBuilds A310 included with MSFS. Is that a totally silly reason to learn it? 😄

If Iran has good coverage on Vatsim, I would say it is a great reason 🙂

I have done it many times and the opportunity to fly real routes with the ini A310 and A300 is the reason why I bought the latter.

Also until recently Ariana had some A310 flights.

I would not recommend learning an addon on while using vatsim.  It's a bit frustrating as a controller (I did it in the past) when the virtual pilots don't know how to operate their addons.  I'd recommend getting to know the addon first offline, then flying online later.  Before you fly online you should be able to fly headings, changes altitudes, program direct to's in your FMS/MCDU/GPS, activate legs/intercept a track/route, setup for a visual approach or an instrument approach etc with ease.  Also you'll want to know how to change frequencies and operate your transponder.

My friend, isn't it exactly what I said? I have been shuttling offline between Tehran Mehrabad and Mashhad in this up until now when I feel ready to join the Vatsim skies 🙂

I think its appropriate and consistent with real world operations.  Not silly at all.  But don't do Vatsim while learning to fly a complex aircraft

The A310 is still buggy so to use this AC could be a bit critical, and I'm curious to see if there will be any updates from Microsoft, I've read something but that will come true again is the big question.

So maybe better to take an other AC..

There will be updates to it in the next AAU, which is meant to some out this month.

Also inibuilds makes the updates not Microsoft.

I am not shure about that, if you head over to the inibuilds forum for the A310 inibuilds says this is on Microsoft because they bought the AC, but if so it would be OK and for shure the better way because they did the Aircraft - but i think we hopefully will see what happens in the future, this update is a long missing and necessary feature..
