September 17, 20241 yr Hello everyone. I've seen several pictures here of MSFS, and all of them look very crisp and detailed but mine. This is an example, landing with the Fenix A320 at UBBB: Full 1080p picture here: https://flic.kr/p/2qgUxNJ Airport is this freeware enhancement: https://flightsim.to/file/17101/baku-ubbb-airport-lights-enhancement Specs in signature. The other stuff I have running with MSFS is ActiveSky (I never got along with default WX), GSX (which somehow shuts down after takeoff), LVFR static aircraft and FSHud (with just 10 active and 10 parked aircraft). I lock the sim at 30 FPS with RTSS (front-edge sync) and then I apply 2x FG with Lossless Scaling. I run in DX12 mode (somehow it behaves better). My settings are mostly High, with TAA, AF=16x, TLOD and OLOD=100, PG off and no in-sim traffic (roads and boats at just 10%). My internet service is a 300 mbps plan. That's the fastest I can get down here. I don't use AutoFPS, it reduces TLOD even further. I tried TLOD=200 but then I got stutters. While the cocckpit textures are good for my liking, I think I could do better with a 5700X3D and a 300 mbps connection regarding ground textures. What do you think? September 17, 20241 yr Its msfs I run at 300 lod with a 7950x3d 3080ti 6000mhs ddr5 32gb rsm 300mbps internet speed. 16x in nvcp with a few other options low latency performance mode etc. Still looks word not allowed word not allowed for most part. Yet others have crisp clear msfs. Mike
September 17, 20241 yr You could help yourself by setting anistropic filtering in MS to off, and then setting the same in nvidia control panel to 16. I found that helps, but is likely to vary from rig to rig. Also, TLOD set to minimum of 150. I have found little benefit from setting above 200, although some will say otherwise. September 17, 20241 yr There's definitely something wrong with your MSFS settings. You should try an ultra setting without any external aps or community addons just to see how it looks. If it looks as bad as the pic, I would consider a full re-install after you try with a vanilla sim. MSFS

When I fly and look out of the cockpit, I don't want to see the landscape "filling in" in front of me as I fly. I just want it to be there, already rendered and filled in. This is what TOLD does. It affects how far away landscapes are rendered. Naturally, it takes a decent rig to crank up TLOD. 9800X3D | RTX 5090 FE | X870E Aorus Pro | 64GB G.Skill DDR5 6000MT/s | WD Black 2TB NVMe

September 19, 20241 yr Author Thank you all for your replies. Definitely there's something wrong with my ground and you confirmed it. I tried first increasing TLOD to 200, but I'm getting almost the same blurries. Had to increase settings to Ultra (and reduce clouds and lighting) to see an actual improvement. Setting AA to 16x helps also a bit, I guess. This is how it looks at KMIA, approaching runway 9: Please disregard the approach speeds and configuration. Do you also see the far ground better? September 19, 20241 yr the single biggest killer of performance is the traffic slider 0 to 100 in MSFS options. it will cost about $7 to try LSFG, which I think requires Steam to purchase, but I think does not require steam to run it. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. I already have it. My goal is to have a stable 30 native FPS, before applying FG. September 19, 20241 yr Author One question: are you all guys using DX11 or DX12? DX12 used to be more stable regarding FPS, but I've just tested with DX11 and looks like it's behaving better. Apparently, Ultra is too much for my 3060 Ti. I tried dx 12 today and I was pleasantly surprised by how much better it was from its initial release and the sim looked a little more AA ish. Looked nicer! Now I have a Titan card, so vRam could become an issue for me, but I'll keep it for now. I still experienced the occasional pauses, but it was mostly smooth. MSFS
