Virpil yoke

Featured Replies

In case you missed it over in Hardware/Controllers forum... Virpil is running a KS campaign for their brand new yoke. Here's the link

$100,000 in about 20 hours isn't bad at all, but I'm a bit wary about the idea that an established manufacturer should go through Kickstarter to fund a product's development.

The fact that you need to go all the way to the $759 tier to get any of the panels which feature prominently in the marketing like they were part of the main product also is a bit meh.

Personally, I'm sitting this out, but best of luck to them.

You actually don't. You can choose one of the lower tier packages and add the panels to that on an a la carte basis. Pricing for them is also discounted.

Oh that's good. Didn't notice that.

Great. Went with the Early Bird Vega edition with under desk mount and left lights panel.

Looks good. I currently own a Fulcrum yoke and the pitch axis in the Fulcrum is 200mm vs. 160mm on the Virpil.

I was about to jump in but decided to wait until it's fully released on their website. That yoke looks like a worthy Honeycomb Alpha replacement.

If FSS E-Jet gets a working VNAV that M shape yoke will be perfect.

I know Virpil is generally very highly regarded when it comes to the quality of their flight control offerings (flight sticks, rudder pedals, etc), so this looks like a solid offering for them. That being said, I'm not nearly discerning enough to feel the need to dump my alpha and pick up theirs unless mine breaks down or something.

Given there is already a topic in Hardware for this yoke I don’t see the point of another in this forum. Please comment over there.
