5+ minutes for me to get to the Menu screen, without VPN I don't see all my aircraft and the selection buttons (aircraft, helicopters etc) are missing, with VPN pointing to USA they appear and the load time is still 5+minutes....

There you go. The VPN fixes the files issue, but can’t do anything about physical latency to make the load faster. Once the fix the European servers, it should work as expected.

I believe you.

Mine still takes 15 min though.

Mine is around that as well, and I'm in Portland, have 1G fiber, more than enough performance for any other game/sim that I happen to play, so it's not my hardware, not my network connectivity, its something else.

I just timed it again, started stopwatch when I clicked on the taskbar.... it took 12.5 mins before I saw the main menu.... too long in my book.

Same here. I'm in Ontario, Canada with 2 Gbps service and starting MSFS2024 takes around 10 mins every single time. And it keeps giving me a "Transfer complete" notification stating that I need to restart the sim to retrieve my FS 2020 items. So there's another 10 mins wasted. Sigh. So far, I'm not a fan of this new "thin client" approach.

around 10 to 20 mins on a 1 Gbit fiber with superb low ping. Swiss/German border.

It doesn't load the packages or I can't install them, do I need a directory for this?

It probably did the same thing in MSFS 2020, they just didn't label it in the startup screen.

It appears from all reports the European servers are still limited.

Thus, the VPN fix…

Eastern US here 3 minutes launch to flying, actually timed with stop watch!

Yes, europe is still not working. Try a VPN to the US.. that seems to fix it for many people. Or just wait till they get around to fixing the european servers.

May be better to VPN to Ireland from what I've read on the FS forums since it's lower latency than US.

Give people power to really test their personality.

About 3 minutes from opening to main menu - UK 150mb download speed, I can deal with that time.

Though I seem to be having luck compared with most people, started using yesterday and no issues so far!
