Those alternatives will probably come sooner rather than later. As mentioned by others, there are plenty of devs who have modified their toolsets to a point where they are easily able to transition to 2024. The longer it takes PMDG to port, the wider the door opens for other devs to make competing products.

Lets not go that far as only iFly have chance to compete with PMDG in the Boeing sector with their 73Max. PMDG may have some comments about the new sim or whatever but rest be sure about this PMDG needs MS/Asobo more than they need them. PMDG just needs time to figure it out. I don't believe either Fenix or FBW existed before 2020 was released. You never know who is waiting on the sidelines for an opportunity to enter the market.

Therefore their 77F will be released for MSFS2020 in a couple of weeks Thank you Mr Randazzlzz !! . I can hold off and haul freight for a bit while MSOBO gets their act together. But hey never say never as we don't need any more Boeing 7 series or Airbus 3 series.

I think you're right in terms of timing, but don't forget that BlueBird is likely a contender with their 757. BlackBird are working on their 732 (but their production timelines are highly, um..."variable"). JustFlight has a partially built 747 somewhere in their shop. And iFly is likely already working on their 747, too I've heard CaptainSim used to make decent addons back in the ESP sims, so even they could come out of left field with a "Pro" version for MSFS. Heck, given that MilTech seems to have done a really good job on the "Boeing" C-17, which is every bit a long haul airliner in it's own right, it's not unreasonable to think they might not go for one of the Boeing tankers next... PMDG is a successful veteran dev shop, but they've got to figure out how to fend off all the competition that's popping up all-around.
