November 29, 20241 yr Is anyone else having the issue that saving custom camera views are not saving? I scroll to the position that I want for view 0, hit CTRL ALT 0, then switch views. When I hit the view botton associated with view 0, it doesn't go to where i positioned the camera. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? November 29, 20241 yr I would say 75% of the time no issues, but, 25% of the time, it doesn't save the way I would expect it to.
November 29, 20241 yr Moderator I'm assuming you are using the msfs2020 keyboard - always double check that this is set, I've noticed on occasion that it will switch back to the 2024 keyboard. I know it's something I did but don't know what. So the minute I get strange results, that's my first check. The engine off button on the bravo quadrant (parking brake) has bitten me more than once. I can't get it to save ever. I don't think I am doing anything wrong. It is set up for me the same as 2020. November 29, 20241 yr Control mapping is glitchy as all get out. Saved views worked yesterday but not today.

I'm just not going to try and use custom cameras until they fix it. I swear this was an issue when MS2020 first came out. Exactly the same issue. November 29, 20241 yr We are talking about moving to a specific position in the cockpit, then pressing a key to save the position and then call it up with another key? I use CTRL+Number for that and just Number to call it up. It's kinda like FPS, where you used to call different guns with numbers on the keyboard. Anyway, since the release, I didn't have a single time this didn't work. No glitching here, at all.

November 29, 20241 yr Are you talking about Load Custom Camera x and Save Custom Camera x assignments? If yes, then try CTRL+Number to save and only number to load. I also suggest you make sure you have no double assignments on these - check with search by input. Edited November 29, 20241 yr by Simon_C
November 30, 20241 yr Has anyone tried copying the custom camera settings files from 2020 into 2024? (It would save me hours of work.) Answer: Works fine except file location for cameras.cfg for at least some aircraft (Asobo default it appears) has moved. November 30, 20241 yr Report this to MS/Asobo on the official FS forum. It's an issue when you load more than one airframe per flight sim session. For example: load the 172, the custom cameras work as they should. If you want to fly the 208 next you need to quit the sim and relaunch to have the 208's custom cameras to position themselves correctly. I don't think this was done intentionally by MS/Asobo, likely just an oversight, but one that many of us would like to see addressed.

By default, MSFS 2024 isn't bound to CTRL + Number to save a camera position and a number to load it. At least it wasn't for me. @Zimmerbz needs to search for what it's bound to in MSFS 2024. November 30, 20241 yr My suggestion was to assign those keys to the bindings in the sim and test how it's working, since mine are working OK. Maybe that would shed some like why his custom cameras are not working and mine do.
