So they had Botox in 1967?

No.... that's a consequence of the skin nourishing minerals Marina was exposed to while swimming in the depths of the ocean.

We had some great American shows in the UK, in those days, too.

Land of The Giants

Voyage to The Bottom of The Sea

Lost In Space

Great stuff.

Voyage to the bottom of the sea was just fantastic…

Absolutely epic! Loved it.

What an amazing sub, with its own flying saucer.

Hold on, that must be what UAP's are. It's the flying saucer from Seaview.

I always mangled the title to be: Voyage to See What's at the Bottom... 😜

That was the title of the Mad Magazine spoof.

Years ago, there was a good PBS documentary series called "Pioneers of Television".   One of the episodes was "Science Fiction".  Most of the programs mentioned here are on it.  Very good show, as the actors reminisce about there experiences.  A couple highlights that I remember were when producer Irwin Allen ("Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea", "Lost in Space), starting at 27:00, is remembered as being a cheapskate, and how costumes were reused and modified between his shows. And at 35:10, they shift from Star Trek taking on the issues of the day to how over the top ridiculous Lost in Space was.  Marta  Kristen remembering how Mark Goddard was so frustrated in his role, as he said "7 years! 7 years of method acting, 7 years, and I'm talking to a carrot!"

I remember building a plastic model of the Seaview, and it was pretty easy.

However, the Flying Sub was very tricky to put together mainly because it required advanced modeling skills like filling in seams with Squadron Green putty and sanding them smooth. The injection molded pieces for the hull didn't fit together very well, and required filling and sanding that were beyond my skill level at the time. 😬
