January 16, 20251 yr Anyone notice in developers push to make their add-ons 2024 compatible they end up breaking their 2020 version? Here are two out of a few I found so far that the developer will have to go back and fix for 2020: 1. Toolbar PushBack (Flightsim.to) - Updating to the latest version the options no longer work in 2020. Sent a note to the developer and glad I had a backup of the previous version 2. Airshow Assistant (Marketplace) - Wingmen external lights no longer working after the latest update. This is minor but I know for 2024 there something different they have to do with external lighting but in doing that broke the 2020 version. There's no option to revert back to the previous version These are two I can think of off the top of my head this morning but there's a few more. Moral of the story is during this 2020/2024 transition update add-ons with caution and if possible insure you can roll back. 😏 Edited January 16, 20251 yr by Dillon FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
January 16, 20251 yr I decided a couple of weeks ago not to update anything that has been modified to work with 2024. The few that I did caused problems and I had to roll back to the pre update version.
January 16, 20251 yr Do you have any actual proof of what you're asserting? Remember how incorrect you were about Asobo not doing public betas anymore? 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

January 16, 20251 yr I wouldn’t be surprised to see this becoming more common as many devs probably won’t want to maintain two versions forever if at all. Most of the time there will be development on both until such time where the older gets a long lived release which is essentially feature frozen but supported and any new features are only on one platform. My guess is that will come in 2026 if things go as expected this year. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

If I install a 2024 update to an add-on that's supposed to be compatible with both sims and that updated add-on then stops working in 2020, that's pretty strong evidence that the 2024 update broke the 2020 version. Nah...that's strong evidence that you shouldn't have both installed perhaps.....just saying... Alex

January 17, 20251 yr Next off-topic poster gets a week off. Enough already. 2024 updates potentially breaking 2020 add-ons is a legit topic of discussion. If you see it or don't see it, fine to chat about it. But if you want to poke someone in the eye for daring to mention it, do it elsewhere.
