He actually tested MSFS

 

Basically this person is saying without dlss the fps are similar?  But in the msfs videos the 4090 is doing about 90 and the 5090 is doing 130 fps in DX11...  that's a decent upgrade imo

I think if you intend to pay that type of money, you better have more uses in mind than only MSFS.....

 

This is 100% fake.

Review embargo is Jan 23, and Nvidia only gave out cards to a few channels with much larger subscriber count than the two channels posted in this thread. Everyone who received a 5090 from Nvidia did an unboxing video yesterday (which neither of these channels have done, because they do not actually have a 5090.)

Yeah... I'll wait for reviews from the like of GamerNexus. None of the mainstream tech reviewers have actually released any comparison content. So I'm a little farfetched to believe the results of this video.

Not that I disagree that Nvidia seems to be wholly going with AI upscaling rather than providing useful differences in raster performances.

Anyways, based on Nvidia's own slides, we know the approximate performance gain of the 5090 over the 4090 that we can expect. It's anywhere from 25% (in a CPU limited game like Far Cry 6) to about 40% in more GPU limited titles.

We will know more once channels who actually have a card post their results on the 23rd.

Absolutely, hardware unboxed, digital foundry l, Moores law is dead just to name a few are predicting this. 

The days of big rasterization gains are at an end - it's all about AI and frame gen now. Some will like this essentially frame smoothing tech, others not so.

Anyway the 5090 is utter madness imo, some are predicting this card will sale for 3k.

AI will be used for more than just frame gen moving forward. Things like texture compression to save both disk space and VRAM, increasing the detail displayed in various materials, accelerating BVH building to allow for more detailed geometry in ray traced games and/or better RT performance, etc. These things will be supported on all RTX cards, but the architecture of the 50-series will allow it to perform better when using them.

DLSS image quality will get a boost as well with the use of the new Transformer model.

Ah that makes sense... I realized the channel didn't have many viewers... and the 4090 video was ancient hah

This is usually why I avoid these YT videos unless they're from reputable channels

They will once the scalpers buy up most of them in the first minute after they go on sale.

Unless things have changed very much, nobody but the very lucky will get these cards at retail for quite a while.

Ebay is discounting them quite a bit. Maybe people trying to get a downpayment on a 5 series card before the 4 series prices drop faster than a used Tesla.

EDIT: I've considered selling my card, but.... I already get pretty good FPS. Would I be buying a new card from genuine need, or just tech-lust and keeping up with the joneses?
