Back After a Long Absence

Featured Replies

Hello fliers, I’m back after a long absence from flight sims. I was very active here several years ago but as we know life happens and now going to get back to flying sims again. Just wonted to say hello and I have a lot of updating to do on my sim gear.

Regards

Be prepared for some fun. Some quirks/bugs along the way but its amazing overall. 2020 has most of the dynamics, freeware and payware scenery or planes with good systems and depth but where it really shines is how it looks in comparison to virtually all other sims. 2024 improved that aspect (though buggy right now) by a bit and some are enjoying a 2024 beta to improve with other bugs.

There is a ton of new gear available, headtracking is cheaper, navigraph is still here in integrated, more ATC programs than ever and the list goes on and on.

Welcome back.

The later is now a game. Real simmers either go with 2020 and ensure mediocre physics modelling and FPS. Or with X Plane and not look out the windows. That's the choice.

What a great time to return.  2020 is still a good sim if you need to run aircraft not yet compatible with 2024.  By some margin 2024 is the one to go for for the impressive new features IMHO.  SU1 is in beta plus DLSS 4 is about to be released - the lighting, weather terrain resolution and textures have all been improved.  SU1 beta is a big step forward.

If you don't have MSFS yet, I think we are not far from seeing plenty of people migrating to 2024 after SU1, but SU2 promises even more.

That statement is more than laughable.  Adding features like Career mode does not take away from current technical aspects of 2024.  Don't believe this guy, 2024 now we are at SU1 is amazing in most aspects, including looking out the window.

This video I took shows how silly his statement is.

Thanks Sonosusto, sorry so long getting back to you. Boy, you are right there’s a ton of new gear out there! I downloaded msfs yesterday and I am in the process of setting everything up now. Flight sim products have come a long way. Happy flying!
