So that is some kind of windows problem and not a MSFS problem. ????? Have you installed and used Addons Linker? The OP may be experiencing a Windows permissions issue and I have experienced Addons Linker successfully placing symbolic links into the Community folder when addon's folders are not allowed. The other solution is what he mentioned regarding the copy and then extraction from zip files. I have successfully used that method in instances where folders and files are needed rather than symbolic links. This is the root of Bert's suggestion to replace or configure a Community folder with a shallow windows path. My addons folder, which I use in conjunction with Addons Linker, holds all of my addons in a structured set of subfolders. Aircraft models, Sceneries, Object Libraries, Liveries, etc. That Addons top-level folder is "D:\MSFS Addons". Talk about short! Nary a problem. February 4, 20251 yr Just to clarify a bit on this suggested method of creating the Community folder in a new location with a shorter path, are we not also placing here new Official 2020 and Official 2024 folders in the same new packages location we specify in the Useropt.cfg file? Rich

Rich I believe the sim will do that when you reboot.. Bert
