February 4, 20251 yr I know if i thumbed through the numerous thread on this I can probably find my answer but hoping someone can save me the trouble. I have a 3080 TI and updated to the new Nvidia driver. I typically use TAA and get around 30 FPS and generally smooth with an occasional stutter on approach into a heavy airport. I am not a technical person so I try to avoid tweaks, changes to cfg. files etc. My question is, with a 3080 TI, and with DLSS 4 technology, what can I expect in terms of sim improvements in performance and graphic quality? Natively without any additional downloads, apps, software, etc., DLSS was still very blurry in the Fenix and I didn't notice anything else different / better. Do I have the wrong card to take advantage of these improvements? And if the answer is no, what do I need in order to take advantage of the improvements? Judging by some of the posts, I would conclude it is somewhat difficult but wanted to double check. I am running both 2020 for FSLabs and 2024 for Fenix if that makes any bit of difference. I also have frame gen mod activated. I hope my question makes sense. Thanks! IMO, there are some improvements to image quality with DLSS4, notably a slight reduction in ghosting on glass panels. In terms of performance, the sim runs a bit more smooth on DLSS4 in combination with the latest Nvidia driver. DLSS4 was supposed to be Day 1 available in MSFS, but as we've seen from the numerous threads, this is not a reality today. Hence, in terms of getting DLSS4 to work properly, there's no free lunch at the moment. The process is convoluted, and might still not work. If you're relatively happy with TAA, just stay on that for now. 1 hour ago, Zimmerbz said: Do I have the wrong card to take advantage of these improvements? The DLSS4 improvements in terms of super resolution and antialiasing (DLAA) are available to all RTX cards. Improvements in frame generation are obviously only available to RTX40 and 50 series cards. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

February 5, 20251 yr MSFS has always been the red headed step child in regards to Nvidia - always has been will probably always be 🙂 Maybe for good reason Asobo needs to Their job also - I dont know anymore - same old same old after all the years Rich Sennett

They gaslighted everyone during that dev stream Q&A when asked about it specifically and said they look into it. Years later and here we still are. Eric

I like 2024 but the overblown hazy washed out look has got me concerned I dont like it one bit - I see they are trying to go for some realistic type of look but its to much - night looks pretty good - its just weird looking Rich Sennett

On a series 3 card, you won't see any Frame generation or benefit from DLSS 4 unless you use the Frame Gen mod and update the DLSS file to the latest using DLSS Swapper. It really is an easy process and will not affect your setup. You should also activate rBAR if you haven't already and if you are running the latest Windows 11 24H2, you could benefit from DirectStorage 2.0 AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 4.2 32 gig ram, Nvidia RTX3060 12 gig, Intel 760 SSD M2 NVMe 512 gig, M2NVMe 1Tbt (OS) M2NVMe 2Tbt (MSFS) Crucial MX500 SSD (Backup OS). February 5, 20251 yr Since I've been made aware of BATC also being able to run at 30 FPS, using DLSS4 at 30 with BATC gives me lower GPU and CPU temps, and I like that and don't worry sacrificing the better quality I get with TAA for less stress to my system and less power consumption... Same was experienced here. Also ignoring/not using any NVidia app filters help in keeping GPU and CPU temps a bit lower. I'm using it with FS20 and FS24 with very good results on my rtx3080. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
