February 17, 20251 yr My spec is medium end (low tier as in 2025). So I turned off the Fauna off and I got more stability in FPS, rural and dense areas. Probably the unoptimized fauna spawning is taking tolls on my end, and as a trade, I can increase plants and grass from medium to high. Probably a placebo but you could always try it. (I am using LSGG, AutoFps, DLSS4, and RTSS fps Cap). Note: I haven't seen any fauna since I bought 2024 in early December after all. February 17, 20251 yr Interesting. It can be imagined that those objects consume quite a few resources. I have fauna off anyway because the only animals that matter to aviation aren’t there. Probably because a bird strike is in fact a bird kill and we can’t have that in a computer game.
February 17, 20251 yr It's only there because Jorg wanted MSFS2024 to also be a zoo simulator. It's a shame that the same level of focus was not given to launching the sim as an absolute bug fest and unless you are on the SU1 beta, it still is 3 months later. I would be happy to forego the animals to have a working sim. Lol this myth again.. the animals stuff was already a 3rd party thing that got folded into the sim, as did various other aspects via 3rd party dev partnerships and MS's big wallet... Asobo themselves didn't obviously spend any dev effort on it. February 17, 20251 yr That's part of my first round of 'improvements'. Fauna for God's sake! The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

But if they are decreasing performance (as I've read elsewhere as well) then that really needs looking into, so yes like much of the rest of the release it's an untested feature that may well need optimisation work, which should've been on their check list from the moment the fauna was added. Ideally they shouldn't affect performance at all, or at best only very very marginally. February 17, 20251 yr My ex airforce colleagues tell me when low flying if you can see the legs of cows you’re at the right height, if you can see the legs of sheep you’re too low.
