Whilst less CTD's than at first, I regularly have crashes from the menus. i.e I load in a flight and the little circle at the botom goes on and on and it will not load until I try to close the program down and find that the only way to close it is within the task manager. Also FPS can be prety good at times though I have to use much lower settings than I did in msfs2020 to get that performance and also, whilst FPS was fairly stable in 2020, it is a lot more up and down in 2024. It seems random. But it usually fixes itself after I quit the sim and restart. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

I don't like the convoluted UI and menu's. Even just selecting a specific livery is more of a chore. You might calll them non-menus but you need to establish your own flow. (versitile) I suspect the MP menu may change. dd

Now it is impossible to get back to 2D 🙂 VR in 2024 is not optimized yet as far as I understand. Will definitely go for 2024 but after SU2 is released. I don't know what stops me from getting the 2024... It is not the matter of money for sure 🙂 Intel i9-13900K, GIGABYTE GAMING Z790, GeForce RTX4090, 32GB

I don't like the convoluted UI and menu's. Even just selecting a specific livery is more of a chore. I could have written this exactly as you have, all of it! The UI looked like pure console and yes things like selecting a livery, etc, overly convoluted for certain. As a predominantly airliner flyer using SLC + APL my initial flights with 2024 which started only a few weeks ago left me with mixed impressions. The overwhelmingly positive reports about clouds/weather really perplexed me as I thought some elements were better, some definitely worse. The better part: they've taken a stab at better morphology and variety and it shows. And I think ultimately I'm seeing more plausible clouds/weather than 2020 offered in some scenarios. The worse: despite others claiming better 'density' or however you call it, I find clouds in 2024 are actually thinner from a resolution POV. The particular 'voxel grid' being used appears much courser now than in 2020. I can make them invisible using TAA as it turns out, but DLSS4 causes them to appear in certain lighting, but it's easy to ignore and often don't see it with DLSS4 anyway. Fortunately performance is good enough to use TAA once again at least with light weight planes like the Longitude, and with that no smearing/ghosting. Then, we did a simple flight from KSHR>KDEN and I was duly amazed at the quality of the textures in that otherwise fairly uninspiring route! And the same is true for textures everywhere including at airports, even the 787X has improved VC textures. So after a slow start for me, grappling with the insane controller setup which once I understood it makes good sense, I'm seeing a worthy update....to an otherwise fabulous precursor, that being what I'm in at this moment: 2020! As @Bobsk8 said, 'it just works' and indeed that is the case, and it's really good, still! MS/A had a serious challenge on their hands trying to make a sequel that much better than something already so good. And I think they have done a great job overall with 2024 so far and we're just getting started. Because I already have a long pre-flight routine to follow I found an app to get rid of mandatory walk-around as I definitely don't need that on top of all other setup for flights in 2024.
