Blackbox711 did a Stream yesterday using SayIntention. In two parts. 1st  an IFR flight from Frankfurt to Napoli and then a VFR flight in northern Germany.

I only watched the 1st part and was underwhelmed.

The speech quality varies. Sometimes it sounds crazy natural, sometimes not. The reaction time is much slower than with BeyondATC, you constantly get traffic that is unrealistic, like Hawaian and Alaska over Italy. Then he was told he could not land at Runway 06 because it was closed. After being asked where that information came from, SayIntentions claimed it was the NOTAM. 

But the current NOTAM had no such indication. So it was imagining things, like ChatGPT often likes to do.

It went on. When he flew the approach on the 24 as cleared the program suddenly changed its mind and cleared him to 06 instead, gave him a vector and left him there. Also tried to descend him way too low. Minimum Vector Altitude was supposed to be 6000 and 7500 for the sectors he was in, he was given 4000. 

That would have killed him.

 

Not impressed at all.

After meeting SI at FSWeekend I took the plunge and went for the subscription and supporters edition, probably without doing the required due diligence.

Am I right in thinking this traffic injection is not featuring aircraft anywhere near the aircraft? You can't see them? You can just hear them when they are a long distance away from you? Ground was completely empty when I turned on traffic injection.  

I was kind of expecting something more along the lines of BATC and FSHud.  My fault for not doing my research.  Or is this all stuff for the future?  Any other people with the supporters edition?  Not attacking the product because this is obviously work in progress, but I was a little shocked at how far traffic injection was behind the others.  I couldn't see a thing.

Correct.

All the stuff in the trailer is coming to Partners on, or before April 15.

I believe the traffic right now is just enroute.

And I appreciate they are warning folks to not get partners just to get this, because there are issues they need to work through.

Also, traffic and SU2 beta they said causes a CTD they are working on.

We partners have had access to this starting overnight.

Yes, it works, with caveats, there is traffic, and performance seems pretty good.  It is definitely in alpha though, and there won't be any streams or videos released at the moment.  

Im a Say Intentions Partner and Annual Subscriber. I became one when BATC almost got me killed in KBOS cause they run their own make-believe ATIS and as someone who strives for real world ops this wasn't going to cut it. SI also has ActiveSky integration so if the qnh in KPHL is 29.92 its 29.92 in SI and in the sim. Im currently in Brazil in a DA40 and the tour guide has taught me so much about the area. I think overall SI is the superior product. As for traffic its in alpha Im not expecting much but id bet that this time next year it'll be amazing. These guys are relentless they even poached the ai flow/ground guy. Im pretty sure they will stop at nothing to be the top dog in AI ATC. Also, it's my humble opinion that BATC is for causal simmers, guys that just want to look cool. SI is for the professionals. Im not a bot.

I don't think a bot would be silly enough to come here and with their 4th post cast a blanket statement that BATC is for casual simmers and guys that just want to "look cool" but SI is for the "professionals"  

That takes a special kind of human behind the keys... 

I'm a FSHUD user, so I just want to look cool too?  🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Agreed. There's absolutely no reason to compare a product against a similar one to try and show which is better. If a product is good it will be so because of the product. I've been busy redoing my hangar that my simpit lives in so I havent been flying for the past week but look to get back into the pilot seat by this weekend. So I have very little expectations on SI traffic during the Alpha phase, however, I am very happy for them in reaching this milestone and the benefits that come to the community with it.
