  • Ya would like to know the main enhancements they have done to the default 787 in 2024 too. From what I understood they take the default 787-10 aircraft and do the changes for the -9 variant. I guess w

  • Nowhere even close

  • I've been using Asobo's and it's decent for sure.  What are the main draws for this one?

So what is important here is a MSFS2020 version to hold grap on and disable the newer 787 version in MSFS2024 right?

Its getting a little complicated.

Hopefully not many goes this route.

Yes. Correct. From my POV the 2024 787 is inferior to the 2020 as far as FMC Automation. The Flight Model and Aircraft Model are a tie so there is no loss in using the 2020 model unless you crave the “latest and greatest” and if so it takes about 30 seconds to revert in either direction WITHOUT REBOOT.

Can someone help me to get my simbrief plan imported? I setup my info in the settings page, but when I request the route nothing happens. It does change to "requesting" followed by "request sent" but nothing is imported. Strangely enough pax, fuel etc. is being imported. I believe I installed the 787 per instructions but maybe I'm missing something.

UPDATE: Planned a second flight from KLAX to PHNL and it worked fine. The first flightplan which didn’t import was within Europe, maybe there was something wrong with the navdata.

Quite strange that you need the 787-10 msfs version for it to work?

Wasn't the default 787-10 in msfs24 supposed to be a superior version compared to the msfs version?

Not even sure as the msfs24 Be350 version is just lame compared to the msfs version.

Friend I believe you just answered your own question LoL.  The reason the 2020 787-10 is needed is because it contains the far superior IMO WT direct Simbrief, route/pax/fuel Import as well as automated W&B…all with a single key press of the lsk.  Simple choice, in my mind.

You just wonder why Asobo would have included an inferior version of the 787 in msfs24 instead of keeping the msfs version? As I said, same for the Beech 350 King Air. You just wonder why the proline 21 wasn't used  while it is the case in the C90.

Msfs24 still has a long shot to go in some area.

WT had responded to this either on these forums or another media that the change was to implement APIs (including the Asobo EFB) that allowed connections to more options and not just simbrief. It just seems that with a few other default 2024 birds, the implementation isn't fully fleshed out yet or documented for 3rd parties.

Horizon team have done a great job for this for freeware.

Honestly feels better than the a350.

Yeah it is super nice, flight model feels good, OK not everything is modelled, but everything that is actually works properly. Unlike the a350 which doesn't fly nicely and so so much of the systems are full of bugs and errors.

Found this on the official forums.  Give this a try,

You have to use the MSFS2020 787-10. Go to Marketplace → My Library and search for the 787. Enable the 2020 version (it is in the MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe dropdown). Enabling that will disable the 2024 version. Also are sure that you have installed the Horizon livery pack.”

Well you should maybe listen to more voices as many like this bird. I do but it has its flaws for sure.

Normally i fly really high Q products like the PMDG/Leonardo/A2A so its really just a matter of opinion.

I hope they can improve performance and some flight Charistics but it alle come down to love for this bird
