Robot behaving like an infant when it is actually still an infant 🤣

I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

The first time I saw this, I posted that it looked like someone messed up a negative feedback loop making it a positive one, causing the machine to flail wildly out of control.

Another possibly better explanation is from the comments:

Basically, the robot was not programmed to be suspended by its shoulders. One light sway and it tries to correct its balance, and that turns into this, a never ending cycle of corrective maneuvers to stay balanced

Instead of a programmer error (mistaking a plus and minus sign) it's a procedural error.  Fun either way! 😄

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

It reminds me of the time I dreamt about a racoon attempting to bite my legs. I was in a similar frenzy and some how manged to leap backwards out of bed and dance across the bedroom in an attempt to avoid the imaginary critter.

You just reminded me of the time I walked into a spider web and did a week's worth of cardio in a few seconds. 😄

It looked like that too.

That happened to my daughter on Monday. 😯

We're moving in a few weeks and she was visiting the place we're moving to.

She was video calling me while checking out the shed. She wants to set it up with some weights, which of course is something I'm all in favour of.

Any way,she entered the shed and mentioned how she'd walked into a web.... and then it was panic stations when she realised there was one of those spiders, those wispy looking guys with long legs, on her personal.

I'm going to declare this my official explanation.

The robot walked into a spiderweb.

Admit it: you'd do the same thing.

Thanks to Martin for the inspiration.

🤣 Yep, guilty!

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

It’s funny how such a tiny creature can elicit such an extreme reaction.  If you stumble upon a tarantula, that would make more sense.  Must be something that’s hard-wired in us.

This is pretty much my response to spiders:

It's also funny to remember that there are a lot spider horror movies out there.  My first and favorite one I saw was "Earth vs. The Spider" (1958).  When I was around 6 or 7 a local TV station would show horror movies in the afternoon during summer vacation.  My friends and I would sit on the floor watching, covering up our eyes with our hands when a scary part would come on and peak through our fingers.

Here are some spider highlights:

"Tarantula" (1955)

"Horrors of Spider Island" (1960)

"Kiss of the Tarantula" (1975)

"The Giant Spider Invasion" (1975)  Last line in the trailer: "There has never been a film like this before!"  Hopefully, never again either.

Maybe this will inspire you too. Another of Marty's nighttime adventures.

Dreamt I was lying on a sofa with bed clothes on me. In my dream I yelled out "you don't care about me!" and then yanked the bedclothes over my body.

Next thing I feel is the strange sensation of my nose impacting the floor and the roughness of cheap carpet on palm.

Yep, had flung myself out of bed and face-planted the carpet.

Had a very bruised nose for a while but luckily not broken.

Any nighttime adventures yourselves, lads?
