He does have some valid opinions, but some are just exaggerated. @Greazer Is it cumulus variants that are bothering you? One thing I noticed about you is that you love moving the goal posts. You said you want sharper outlines. I posted a photo of cumulus that closely resemble what is in XP12. Does your photo show sharper outlines? Sure it does. Does my photo show blurry outlines? Absolutely. Are they both cumulus? Definitely. My point? You want a specific detail on cumulus clouds, and considering Laminar are still working on the current beta, they may come out with the clouds you want. Perhaps your approach could be a little more tactful. ie. Instead of making comments like "Cumulus clouds need sharper outlines. I'm not impressed." try "I would love to see different variants of the different types of clouds, like cumulus with sharper outlines." Your comment will be received a lot better, and you won't come off as arrogant or narcissistic. Practise some humility.
May 26, 20251 yr I personally love X-Plane but they really need to sort out shimmering/aliasing, it really is bothering. I am on a 48" 4k 120hz OLED and the shimmering/AA is horrible. --Sean Hart

I run XP on a Mac, and have seen no shimmering at all. Even my AA looks good.

The graphics engine is so old by now, they can only make minor tweaks. It should all be replaced but I don't see it happening. There is simply no motion vectors, so frame gen not possible. FSR3 or DLSS upscaling not possible. Smooth antialiasing not possible. Ray tracing? Forget it! Edited May 26, 20251 yr by Greazer http://youtube.com/c/Greazer

I actually dont have an issue with AA but in release notes Cloud flickering may still occur in some situations Cloud shadows can appear too dark under certain conditions Cloud artifacts may still be visible in same cases Actually dont have issue with AA as for clouds well aware of issue and serously think its not going to be a simple fix considering how complex this whole thing has become.

My issues with shimmering/AA are on the ground, anything 20 feet in front of me is very aliased and shimmers a lot. --Sean Hart
