Its pushed as a "flight Simulator", which any one should guess isnt going to be easy. The problem is far to many come here expecting it to be like some of those earlier combat simulators where planes dont behave so well and not complicated simple to fly. Besides as mentioned many times, no one reads manuals, if they did we would not have half the issue we do. If some of the "expert streamers", can goof while online, how simple do they expect it to be.

May 25, 20251 yr To me the difference has always been akin to a Harley Davidson versus a brand new Hotwheels. Quality and reliability (X-plane) or MSFS with its pretty but hollow brightly colored plastic wheels. (It's a simple test. If you don't have rudder control, you don't really have something that an honest person can call a flight simulator). Asobo jumped right to the frosting without baking the cake... a hard thing to fix after the fact. Edited May 25, 20251 yr by TASCHMANN

When I fly the FSR500 or the JF Turbo Arrow in MSFS, rudder (etc) is required as expected for coordinated flight.

Its a flight Sim not a game, and no im not here to start that again. Most games you play you simply jump, run and shoot. Not that complicated. Most Default planes in all sims can be spawned ready for take off on the departure runway. All you "need" is a basic joystick, some time riding in a car, and a movie / TV show or two to get up and cruising. IIRC, XP goes one better and spawns you in the air for a basic lesson, too. If you're not hooked after flying, well then, maybe this isn't the past time for you.
May 25, 20251 yr I really wish Anti-Aliasing was better in 12. I know they are apparently working on it but it's going to take some time. Advice from @Ianrivaldosmith means it is now working and it is spectacular! I just flew over Southern California at different times of day. An hour before sunset low clouds rolling in from the sea and mid level clouds up high. MSFS cannot produce what I am seeing. Clouds look real, especially seeing it in HDR. The sun illuminating the ground and mountains through the haze is magical. Sure, in its beta form there are some glitches, but they don't take away from the experience. Just four days ago I thought I would be uninstalling XP12, but now I am amazed. Sure, I can look an an individual feature and say MSFS does that better, but as a whole it blows me away. You were going to maybe uninstall XP-12 you mentioned. Did you buy the software and if you didn't like it, you would just write off the purchase? Why wouldn't you just keep it, in case further updates made it better? You are going to keep MSFS 2024 aren't you? I find that in MSFS 2020 and 2024, it feels like you never have to touch the rudder pedals once you leave the ground when flying GA and not in crosswind landing. With XP-12, the turn coordinator dial is a new found friend. Set MSFS 2024 to max realism and then fly the C172 in both sims. Easy to slip and skid in XP-12 if you don't work the rudder pedals.
