Upgrading to 4k makes any subsequent upgrades to your pc components cost more, permanently to maintain the same level of performance. The same goes going from 1080p to 2k/1440p. Budget is very much a constraint here regardless if you want better. It is better to be in 4K with HighFS settings than to be in 2K with Ultra FS settings. Being half satisfied is not for me. Taking off from London with mediocre performance and the visual quality of the Middle Ages either. Performance problems are a distant memory. I am comfortable everywhere regardless of the plane, the place or the context, and all this in 4K and Ultra. Each flight (50 hours per week) is delicious. Until you have experienced it you cannot understand. You can also stop the simulation, it will be a great saving. Money does not exist for enthusiasts.

Tell you what, you do you, I think you're completely ignoring the main point I'm trying to make judging by you doubling down at this point.

That's awesome for you really, but that means spending for 4k monitors and PC components to supplement that performance requirement You are jet lagged on technology This takes the cake for an avsim comment lol. This was a good laugh From the beginning, I'm the one who's been laughing. My day job is to fly on a simulator 7 days a week. I mean I fly in VR, doesn't mean I'm going to pretend like everyone here has a limitless budget. Tell you what, you do you, I think you're completely ignoring the main point I'm trying to make judging by you doubling down at this point. What is VR? I'm waiting for the eye lenses. Keep experimenting.

This is ridiculous, self-congratulatory MISinformation. Buying a 4K screen is the LEAST important part of building a good gaming system. And your BAD advice will lead to lower satisfaction because you're not hearing that he's budget limited. Far better that he should spend his budget on stronger foundational components than the gilded Lily of a 4K display.
June 27, 2025Jun 27 Forgot to say that Wallmart has <$150 32" curved Samsung gaming screens. Not 4k but hey..
