Anyone bought it yet and have any reviews on it?

Was just gonna wonder when a review video was actually gonna make it out - this released almost exactly the same time as the MH-60, but hadn’t seen a thing about it.

pretty sure this will be a good chopper at the very least, and I do hope Josh was able to reach his goal of making this his best ever

At least this one has upper  modes. Maybe It's the video quality but the cockpit textures doesn't seem very good.

🛠️ Apology & Update on S76C++ Launch

Hello CowanSim Community,

We’d like to deeply apologize for the experience Xbox users have had with our recent S76C++ release. Unfortunately, a few unforeseen bugs in Xbox controller input, especially affecting collective and tail rotor responsiveness, have significantly impacted usability on that platform. We sincerely regret the frustration this has caused for those using Xbox controllers with the sim. All other hardware works as expected on both PC and Xbox.

✅ Fix & Upcoming Update This Thursday
We want to assure you that the fix is ready and scheduled to go live this Thursday (August 7, 2025). This update will correct the controller mapping issues and restore smooth control across all axes and buttons. We have also included the missing in-sim checklist and minor improvements across platforms. Expect more updates soon.

🌟 Request for Xbox Community Support
If you’re an Xbox pilot, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could retry the S76C++ after Thursday’s patch and consider updating your review or rating. Your feedback has a tremendous impact on our visibility and helps us serve the community better.

📹 Basic Autopilot Video Guide for New Pilots
We’re also sharing a video walk-through designed for pilots new to the autopilot system, particularly built for basic autopilot use in the S76C++. You’ll find helpful tips to understand and properly engage the autopilot system:

📘 Expanding & Improving Documentation
We acknowledge that the initial documentation, including manuals and checklists, did not meet expectations in terms of depth and guidance. We are working on expanded user guides, step‑by‑step autopilot tutorials, and clarification on cockpit controls.

💬 Thank You
We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding. Our goal is to deliver an immersive and polished experience. Please stay tuned for the Thursday update, and don’t hesitate to revisit your rating if your experience improves.

Thank you for flying with us.

Is it just me or does the nose look improperly modeled…?

I like the IRL S76 lines, but in this rendition it seems far too bulbous (see the Jon Beckett video above).

glad to see Cowan Stepping To when it comes to the documentation and such.

I can’t but help feel like he over-delegated a lot of this stuff to someone else this time…

meanwhile, back to the MH-60! 👍

Isn't it more than just X-Box users having this issue?

I don't actually own it at the moment. Was waiting to see peoples views on it and held back. There has been a new update released yesterday though:

The newest update for the CowanSim S76C++ is live! This release brings Xbox controller fixes along with refinements to flight handling, systems, and visuals.
🎮 Xbox Controller Fixes
The biggest issue reported by Xbox pilots was with the anti-torque pedals. That’s now fixed and tuned. You can now choose whether your pedals self-center or not in the controller settings. Correct helicopter behavior is non–self-centering, since these are tail rotor pedals and not airplane rudder pedals—but the choice is yours. Collective sensitivity on A/B buttons were also tuned for smoother inputs.
⚙️ Full Changelog
- Fixed/tuned Xbox controller anti-torque pedal bindings and brought back self-centering.
- Note: You can choose to bind them to self-centering or non–self-centering in the Xbox controller settings. Correct for a helicopter is non–self-centering, as it is not a rudder; it is a tail rotor. Choose as you wish.
- Tuned collective sensitivity/steps for Xbox controllers using the A and B buttons.
- Tuned the ITT temperature constant scalar to fix T5.
- Tuned flight model for better cyclic behavior. Not a 100% fix due to internal code, but drag was reduced and handling improved.
- Tuned correlators for pitch and the tail rotor for more balanced flight.
- Tuned autopilot for respective flight model changes.
- Fixed attitude retention mode (ATT), which behaved like SAS instead of holding an exact attitude when SBY mode was on.
- Fixed random autopilot bugs.
- Set autopilot to OFF when starting on a runway or helipad so the pilot can choose to use it.
- Enhanced the systems.
- Fixed minor modeling issues.
- Some cockpit textures upscaled to 8K and reworked. They will look different in 2020 vs. 2024. This is a 2020 product compatible with 2024.
- Fixed tail rotor blurred blades glossiness.
- Changed the front wheel code to self-center when stopped. It’s a free-castering wheel, not physically linked to steering when stationary.
✨ This update makes the S76C++ smoother, more immersive, and more realistic to fly. Whether on console or PC, you’ll notice the improvements immediately.

I see several updates have been released for this one, can anyone comment on the current state of the aircraft?  They recently released a livery pack that includes my local air ambulance so I’m considering a purchase, but I know the initial release had a mixed reaction.

Thanks

Dave

When it was released you were able to notice some issues with the autopilot in regard of response and stability. Now after the updates I'm enjoying it a lot. There is a learning curve but once you figure out how it works you'll be a happy camper... If you decide to purchase the heli try flying it from SBJR or SBCB to the numerous oil rigs as shown in Flightradar24.

To me this is one of the best helis in the sim today. Such a joy to fly.

Many thanks!  I did watch an excellent YouTube video that explained the basics of the autopilot, and how it’s different from what helo simmers might be used to.  I’ll pick this one up today.

Thanks,

Dave

Wow you guys were right.  With just a little bit of knowledge on how the autopilot functions, this is a dream to fly.  My first landing on a tiny hospital helipad was smooth and right on the H.

This will be a fun one for sure!  Next flight will be Helijet between Victoria and Vancouver.

So glad that this turned out to be as positive an experience as it has.
