Has anyone solved the "Stuck at 97% Loading?"

Featured Replies

I have read many threads and posts about this issue but find no solution.  The SU3 sim was working perfectly and then it wasn't!

Have been flying happily in 1.5.27.0 since it was released.  Flew for an hour earlier today with beautiful scenery and excellent performance. During that flight the Community folder contained 10 files and 25 linked files including several detailed airports and aircraft. Shut the sim down with "Quit to Desktop" with normal end.  Normal load time in SU3 has been around 120 to 140 seconds.

Sim took 120 seconds to get to Loading World Data 90% the next time I started the sim.  It then stalled at that point and needed another 4 minutes to get to 97% where it remained for the next 30-minutes.

I emptied the Community Folder of every file.  I edited exe.xml so no add-on programs would load. I did not manually start any addon programs.

Again, Sim took 120 seconds to get to Loading World Data 90% the next time I started the sim.  It then stalled at that point and needed another 4 minutes to get to 97% where it remained for the next 30-minutes.

At the point the sim is stuck at 97% and nothing I do makes it better.

I used Ookla Speed Test several times during each load process to verify my ethernet connection to the internet was running at greater than 900Mb/sec. Occasionally the loading process tells me it has lost the internet connection but then immediately says the connection is re-established.  The network monitor shows the sim loads at a rate of 8 to 40 Mbs up until it stalls at 90% loaded.  The sim then loads at 0 to 40 Kbs/sec until I stop the loading process at 30-minutes.

Just about everything that the OP said - except that despite 30 plus hours of trying tget 2024 into my computer - I still haven't succeeded to even get the short time to play the word not allowed thing as the OP seems to have done

I have tried to install it on a completely - new - formatted SSD 2TB - ie no previous install - no community - no marketplace - only Asobo defaults as installed that are in the download

Have uninstalled - reformatted - reinstalled 3 times with nothing past 97% - even after leaving it for 2 hours - and like the OP - have examined every suggestion on MS forum and elsewhere

What is strange - is that - in the xbox Ap - I can play 2024 via the Cloud ??

One thing you could try is to re sync your computer time   Go to Time and Language settings and click Sync Now. You maybe thinking Really ? But, I had a similar issue and that fixed it.

Thanks for that - no luck - all OK with both time and place and how we Aussies speak😁

The sim receives data from "...deploy.static.akamitechnologies.com" using "TCP Receive" during the first 95-seconds of sim loading.  Each receive is for 1440 up to 10080 bytes.
The sim then starts receiving data from ak.tiles.virtualearth.net, again using TCP Receive but no packet contains more than 24-bytes.
About 5% of the TCP Receives are from a url with no alphabetic equivalent.  Those packets vary in size from 24-bytes to 807-bytes.

The 95-second elapsed time corresponds to when the sim load screen shows 91% word data.  From that point on the sim operates as described above.

As I mentioned in another thread, if all the suggestions here don't work, file a support ticket at the official MSFS ticket Zendesk support: support: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

They will help get you sorted out. The support people for MSFS encounter this daily, so I'm sure they'll figure out why you can't install it.

i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

had this today as well after all fine yesterday.

checked ms store and updated the regular XBOX and gaming services apps, restarted PC and then MSFS loaded fine

So, in a nutshell as yet another possible cure: check your ms store update status

I shut off AIG traffic in my addon linker, sim started just fine. I'm in the process of loading new models and AIG planes back into addon manager to see if that helps. I like having the models for VATSIM.

I'll let you know if it helps,

Have you tried deleting "content.xml"?

ZenDesk support answered my question in three hours and provided a very quick and easy solution.  I should have remembered it from the 2020 Days!

After deleting all the entries in the host file (as shown below) the sim loaded in it's entirety in 1' 40" and now runs very well.

Remove Google Maps mods if you have ever installed it.
If you did previously install the Google Maps mod, restore Bing Maps and undo any modification made to your host file by the plug-in.

  1. Use the windows search bar and search for Notepad. Right-click and select Run as Administrator.
  2. In Notepad, go to File > Open and then navigate to Windows (C:), Windows, System32, drivers, etc
    and open the host file.
  3. Get rid of:
    127.0.0.1 kh.ssl.ak.tiles.virtualearth.net
    127.0.0.1 khstorelive.azureedge.net
    1. And all other hosts with the names "virtual" and "azure"
  4. Save and exit

I didn;t have those files in my system32 folders. I still have 97% loading issue. I am still loading aig fresh so I'm not sure if that was my problem. I don' think this should be marked as resolved.

Thanks
