The UK versions are upgraded for XP12, not sure about the rest.

The XP12 versions used to be like £3 for those who already owned the XP11 version.

I wonder if that discount still applies? (If it does, you could purchase the XP11 version on sale and then upgrade for a nominal fee).

The XP11 version doesn't work properly with XP12 as far as I know so the upgrade is mandatory.

Thank you guys.

The difference between the XP11 and the XP12 is about $AUD 2 more for XP12 version.

OMG, been meaning to get round to buying this. My first time buying something because it was on sale ever, UK XP12 bundle. Schweet!

The XP11 ones do work in XP12. I bought the XP12 GB True Earths at the start of 2025, when there was also a sale. (I think I paid about £7 or £8 per region.)

I will not invest in ANY scenery. The sim is in an upgrade phase with a major scenery re-do at some point which will most likely render these moot. So, longevity-wise, I will not invest into anything likely to be rendered obsolete soon. I trust in LR and the moves they are making, whether for 12 or 13.

  • You would be as much investing in the scenery artists as you are in the enjoyment of having great scenery
  • It won't stop working, even when we get next gen scenery engine for XP, the intention is to keep the old stuff working.
    • Someone is still going to have to make scenery for the next gen scenery engine.
  • I love what Orbx have done with their user experience, it's continually improved since I bought EGCB: While I've not bought things from every possible place, They are definitely #1 for customer support, that value add is important to me, they took a lot of heat for the MSFS London launch, but that was the first and only time I've seen them run into issues, and that was years ago.
  • As others have pointed out, their "upgrade" policy is very much value added rather than repeat pay for the same content, XP12 seasons and weather support is a huge upgrade for less than the price of a couple of cups of coffee.
  • don't be fooled by the AUD pricing, their prices are very fair, but in AUD the numbers look scary high.
  • You can get reasonably close using ortho4xp yourself, in fact I've been pretty happy with that approach myself for a long while, but it is well below true earth quality,
  • Having some else who knows what they are doing putting a decent amount of energy into trying to get great UK scenery is a much better use of yours and my time.

My ortho4xp mods should be mostly compatible with it, including

Now I actually have it installed, I can probably look at building them for it next weekend.

Very happy customer here.

What I'd like to see is Orbx True Globe, where the entire earths surface is covered by Orbx.

Hello,

I was wondering if the True Earth XP11 versions work in XP12 and if you guys recommend them.

They are on sale right now.

I use TE FL, S CA, N CA and WA without issue in v12.

they don’t look as good as TE GB v12, but that’s to be expected

still far superior to default ground scenery

LR have shared that it’s extremely unlikely to have any type of satellite imagery in the next gen scenery.

while I have faith in their ability to deliver significantly improved scenery, I HIGHLY doubt it will measure up to Orbx True Earth.

The Orbx scenery is based on satellite imagery, so it will never be 'moot'.

i use box trueearth canaries, balerics, and florida in xp12 with no issues.
