I have only just noticed your signature, Andy. That is some serious storage space you have there!

And that's after I removed the 32tb of USB attached HDD I was using for spare/backup! (I replaced that lot with a couple of WD NAS boxes). I think I've got maybe 100 TB sitting around here one way or another. Never knowingly under capacitised!

Not up and running yet. I just installed the RTX 4070 Super last night.

The problem I have is that I want to install MSFS 2024 on the new PC, but I am waiting for a Steam super sale! That being the case, I do not want to replace my current PC as I would be without a flight simulator. I have no intention of messing about and installing two flight simulators on the same PC.

I have stopped purchasing any addons for MSFS 2020, as my primary target for addons is now upgraded versions of a handful of my existing addons that need to be paid for (IniBuilds EGLL/LEIB; Pilot Experience Sim LDRI etc).

What 'messing about' do you envisage by having two sims on the same PC?

I have 5 different sims installed on my rig and  all run independently of each other and did not neccessiatate any 'messing about'.

I have since chosen for some to share certain scenery and planes and to that end I used some readily available basic utilitiey prgs. to assist me.

To my mind this is not 'messing about', in fact I quite enjoy it. Maybe, you would class trying to share between sims as a bother,

or maybe I'm miles off the mark? As they say "Doctors differ,Patients die."

I am only interested in using one flight simulator. I have no interest whatsoever in installing MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 on the same PC. It is one or the other. That may sound strange to some people, but it is how I work 

EDIT: I am not altogether confident of using one of those "key" options to purchase MSFS 2024. I would prefer to get it directly from Steam. Unfortunately, almost everything apart from MSFS 2024 appears to be included in the Black Friday sale. MSFS 2020 is discounted by 60%, which is what I was rather hoping would be the case with MSFS 2024.

On a side note, the CH Flightstick Pro available at FlightStore is also not part of the Black Friday sales. I would have purchased a backup for my current joystick if that had been the case

Ultimately it is up to addon developers to create LODs that are appropriate to the object screen size and that fit within the (generous IMO as of SU4) rules that govern which LOD is displayed. If addon developers choose to remove objects completely at certain LODs or not provide lower detail LODs at all, that would be up to the individual developer to address.

AIG's MSFS native traffic models are following the LOD rules set up in the SDK, but still have the vanishing nose landing gear issue. So it does seem like there is a bug in system.

Test-Package for ASOBO will be delivered to them next week so we can get a feedback on what is the issue.
