Hi,

Any SI users seeing a completely broken, misrerable service this evening?   I was receiving no replies to any radio calls, while on the ground at EGSH.  So I took off anyway and contacted London Information for basic service.  No replies.   Then 5 minutes after making the first call, I get a response .... 5 minutes, to the minute.   I then get 8 consecutive responses from ATC (all utterly irrelevent and out of context by this phase in the flight).  Tried again.... no response .... 5 minutes later a response. 

I've been getting problems around every 3 days lately, where I get no responses, or ATC acts illogically and doesn't understand basic calls I used to make day in day out.

It's the worst it's ever been, in my experience.

I've been a sub since day 1, and I'm about a horse's hair away from cancelling now.

If you're thinking about subbing to SI I would strongly not recommend it at this time as - since the last GUI "update" it's quite frankly a mess.  I've sent emails, feedback forms, never get any reply.

The server is currently overloaded, it's being fixed at the moment. Apparently there was a surge of new customers over the last few days, possibly caused by that. Or just a random AWS hiccup.

It's getting worse.  Every other flight, I get incoherent instructions.  When it's working, it works well..just a roll of the dice.

Yeah I have the same! Sometimes it makes no sense

The experience has crashed down to rock bottom for me.  There is a relationship between the more bloatware they add (like being a first officer for Santa Claus 😑) and the less stable the core platform becomes.  

As I said in the OP, about 1 day in 3, the thing just will not respond to my calls, for minutes.  It's not fit for purpose.  

When using it to fly VFR in the UK, I also keep getting stuck in "loops", that never used to occur.

Here's the one that occurred today:-
 

ME: "G-RLTD, is a PA28, 5 miles north of Teesside airport, 5000, request clearance to transit the zone, from north to south, exiting at Northallerton"

SI: "G-RLTD, pass your message"

Me: "Err... we're a PA28, 5 miles north of Teeside at 5000 on a VFR flight to Humberside. We'd like permission to enter the zone for transit"

SI: "G-RLTD, pass your message"

...etc, etc, etc.    Other days, SI can perfectly understand that request.

Then there are a myriad of other current "failures", like flying a full IFR flight, then getting handed over to Tower, checking in and then being ignored.  No response, no landing clearance.  So you've simulated a full flight with ATC and right at the end, SI just breaks and ruins the experience.

I've defended SI and recommended it continuously on AVSIM and elsewhere but I'm now really sick of how poor the experience has become.

As the Dragons in the Den would say, "I'm out".

Yes, SI seems to be dead/dying. Not just the technical stuff, but also how they have been marketing/spamming, bad UI design etc. It does not inspire any confidence that they will be around. 

 

I'm not seeing that. If you are on Discord, you can get issues addressed quickly. The good news is that there are other options available.

Yup experiencing the same thing. 

I think there was some AWS issue tonight, flightsim.to was also offline for a bit and BeyondATC also had a server outage for about 20 minutes.

There always seems to be some sort of mess.  The ramp guys are useless too.  Takes about five times me telling them that my parking brake is in fact released. I think it's a great product but they get a bit high huffing their own supply and they're going to come unstuck if they're not careful.  I'm getting cleared to taxi onto runways with a B777 barrelling down towards me.  It's fairly basic stuff.  
 

I would love to go to BATC as it looks pretty cool, but they don't offer traffic separation do they?  Kind of defeats the whole object of an ATC.

Yeah I wish I could find the perfect traffic program but none exist— I’ve thrown all the money I can at this problem and here are my findings:

BATC: No separation and planes do flips and spins over runways and traffic gets stuck and drives through each other constantly. Best voices when using premium. Unfortunately focusing on other things that don’t align with my traffic centric wants. 
 

Say Intentions: things are always breaking as they are always updating and editing the program. Traffic is sometimes really good but most of the time bad and you are cleared to land on top of aircraft or other conflicts. Voices are getting good. 
 

FSHUD: Best traffic management. Sequencing works pretty good. Sometimes the constant heading changes get crazy to avoid traffic but still worth it for the separation. Unfortunately lately, it takes a while to inject traffic with the latest updates. And pushbacks are not a thing yet (traffic just instantly faces the direction they initially start to taxi) worst voices of the three. Plans for the future are very bright especially with the new Airport configuration editor that promises to make airports customizable. 
 

I still switch between all of them from time to time when they update , ever chasing the dragon!

I have had FSHud since way back. What I don’t like and why I don’t use it have to do that hud has it own ways of reading scenery’s. If hud don’t like it, it’s a hard CTD.

This spring I signed up for SI. I was happy for a month or to. Did not want to see the issues since I stupied throwed 60 box to be a partner to take advantage of all features. But endless problems. ATC don’t understand what I say. CPDLC a new fun feature. Click click ”check in with voice” Co- pilot that don’t respond. Wrong FIR/UiR. Over national water check in squak 2000 etc etc.

checklist, RAAS etc may be a cool gesture, but I wanted a ATC that work. No SI don’t work, at all!

I met the SI guys in Lelystad and they were lovely.  Really like the product.  Got my partner sticker and I genuinely have a good time with it a lot.
 

But what grates me is that they seem to have this arrogance about themselves that everything is so amazing.  Perhaps it's a cultural thing, and no offence to anyone.  They just seem so word not allowed excited about everything they do, which is great.  But I still get traffic just disappearing in front of me.  I still get taxiid straight into other aircraft at fairly major airports like Dubai.  I struggle to share their excitement then (especially when it's a subscription and money is leaving my account every month). This isn't a new product now either.  MSFS 2024 is maturing nicely and for those of us with a decent rig it's almost perfect now.  But AI ATC most certainly is not.  

I don't see Sony, Koenigsegg or Breitling marketing like SI do.  They don't need to.  They just let the quality do the talking.  Heck even Toyota.  You buy one, you drive it, and it does the job perfectly for years and years.  They don't need to remind you all the time.  What ATC needs is a Toyota.  Just do the simple things well all the time.

I don’t care how nice sales people are. It’s their job to be. I also sended after a badge ä. 7 month plus 60 dollars and a badge. Never again

i subbed to SI for 3 months in total. full of gimmicks, shockingly bad UI, terrible voices. i could go on. they seem more interested in badgering customers to keep the sub going than improvong anything. when i saw that 'your mom'was one of the voices i just thought hmmm, this pretty much sums up SI. i will stick to BATC.
