Boris Sounds for PMDG 737 2024 Workaround

Featured Replies

I know there have been many folks looking to make the Boris sounds for the PMDG 737 work in MSFS 2024. Below is a video I created to help some others get them working. The sounds from Echo19 are solid sounds that greatly enhance what PMDG has historically used, but I still prefer Boris sounds. Hope this helps!

Intel i9 13900k - NZXT Kraken Z73 cooler - ASUS Maximus Hero Z790
64GB Trident Z 6400MHz DDR5 - Gigabyte 4090 GAMING OC 24G
10 x 120mm Lian Li UNI fans - Lian Li OD11XL Case - Corsair HX1500i PSU

CPDLC MSG sound doesn't work with Boris' soundpack in 2024 as I guess we haven't had any need for that in MSFS2020.
Any way to include the CPDLC sound?
Like, deleting everything from the original xml but the CPDLC sound and keeping two sound.xmls or any other way possible?

One of those few things that probably won’t work until he does an official update.

Youtube took down the video, can you share again the instructions?

It's officially compatible now, no work around needed.

I don't see the app in the Marketplace. I had it in MSFS 2020 for the PMDG 737. Am I supposed to be seeing a Boris Audio Works app in 2024 Marketplace?

Thank you both. I checked Orbx Central and it is stating that it is installed but I can't locate the files or folder for it even after searching the folder indicated and all the subfolders underneath it --where it is supposed to be installed according to Orbx Central (see 2nd picture below).

How do I know it is actually installed in MSFS 2024?? What is the folder or file name(s)?

EDIT: I also, verified the files in Orbx Central. It confirmed it is installed but I don't see a folder or files for it.

Also just to clarify, I took down the video and marked it as unlisted to prevent any confusion now that the update is out.

Is that the community folder where all your addons go?

Yes. That is where all the addons go. The Community2024 folder is empty.

EDIT: I have a ticket open to Microsoft asking for what might be a related issue which is that I have the PMDG 800 automatically upgraded after I fired up MSFS 2024 and it states that it is "Ready to Install" but when I press "Install", nothing happens even after I rebooted my PC.

I think the stock sounds are fine.

Wait, what? If one can't tell if the sound package is installed just by listening then why is one even bothering to install the sounds? Why is it necessary to confirm installation if there's so little difference

Thanks.
